how to :? when there is only 1 within 1 km n the teachers there always on mc :sad:[/quote]Wow, you have already done your research! Gd for you! Yep, it's good to monitor the schools you are interested earlier. I check up 1 year in advance too.

The other way is after you have decided on which one, quickly go and call the school for PV. Some neighbourhood schools (I think the North Vista you are eyeing may be one of them) do not have that many PVs and just by doing PV will ensure a place and reduce any uncertainty. Why not?

Actually, I would suggest parents look into their preferred school earlier to know the ballot history. If need to ballot at P2C, see if possible to do PV for school, esp. those neighbourhood schools which may just be a little popular and not swarming with PVs. If 40 hours of PV can buy you peace of mind and remove the uncertainty, why not just spend some leave doing that? Some schools even allow sharing of tasks among 2 parents.

After trying for 2 years and thinking of ways to get DS into the few selected schools near our place and all unsuccessful, or being vetoed by one party or the other, we have decided to just go with the flow. If there is, by a stroke of miracle, a chance for DS in phase 2C in our preferred schools we will try, if not, well we’ll see which other school that is not too far will accord us the highest chance.

i'm ok lah... i still hv a back up sch for P2C supp (js in case)...

that one even till the 2C supp phase also no balloting needed...

DH likes to put it this way: there will always be a vacancy for all p1 child, only is, which sch.
