hi Little princess,
I was there at 9.10am and when i left st Margt the vancacies were left about 21.Based on last 2 days figures, we actually can guaged that St Margt might have to ballot for >2km should more parents come in in the afternoon.
I called at 12noon and the clerk actually told me very nicely that there they left abt 11 seats. I estimated that the balance 11 seats will be taken up soon when the rest come in after 2.30pm but it should not exceed by too much as the staff told me that all PC will be shut down by 4.30pm.
I called again at 5.10pm and was told that there were 5 exceeded the quota.
Frankly, I think most of us stand quite a good chance compared to many many popular schools that exceed few times of their quota.
I guess when the time some of you went there was already quite late and all the staffs were already very tired to answer all questions. Many parents probably pressurised the staffs for info and everyone was very stressful at that time. Perhaps you can still put your galβs name on waiting lists.I heard from my fenz from another school that there will be ppl withdraw last minute b4 sch open for watever reason.
Good luck. -
:congrats: to all that are successful in registrating under Phase 2C
for those that need to ballot, don't be
, there is still hope. Good Luck !

Yes....maybe will waitlist....the thing that frustrates me is the \"not sure, we are not in the hall\" answer that was told to me twice since 12pm over the phone. Anyway, its over...Life has to go on!hi Little princess,

How can the parents know of all those who cheat? There is no way. In fact, just to blow the whistle on 1 parent when there are so many that get away because no parent know that they have done so is really unfair (basically, no parent who cheat will let other parents know. Those who got leaked is just by coincidence and most likely only a few can be detected while the majority go undetected). So, to be fair, MOE should just check all parents' address under phase 2C where distance determines whether their kids get in or not. To just say no resource is simply just an excuse. If we tolerate this, soon when you get mugged, the police can also say petty crime, no resource to investigate because \"nobody see the mugger, you go find somebody who see the mugger and give us a picture then we can investigate\". Somebody get knocked down by cars which then disappeared, traffic police said \"no resource to investigate since nobody see the car's plate. Go get somebody to tell us the car plate number then we can investigate\". Is that what we want to degenerate to?

MOE needs people who know of such cases to blow the whistle, they do not have the resource to check & monitor all the students' addresses ..

do you know how many primary applicants there are each year? and beside checking the NRIC, what else you expect them to do? conduct 100% house call? and repeated house calls for those who claimed that they are not home? then perhaps the entire primary school registration exercise has to be prolonged inorder to complete the 100% address verification ...
what about people shifting out after the exercise? hmm ....

Wow, I didn't know this is so serious, becoming a police case. What was the previous case like, was the person fined only or put in jail??!! Really donno what to do. Plus this person is my competitor (if u know what i mean)!! On one hand, I feel strongly against dishonesty, on the other, this police case business is not a trivial consequence. :? :?teddy posted a MOE reply on this issue of home address
\".... Please allow us to clarify that any false information given by parents during the P1 registration exercise will be referred to the Police for investigation. The child whose parents have given false information during the registration exercise will be transferred out to another school with vacancies.
If you have knowledge of someone having provided false information, you may write to MOE with specific details so that the Ministry can investigate the matter and take necessary action ....\"

don't need 100%, even 50% is more than enough. Furthermore, if MOE can say that it is too much to check, then by analogy police can also say it is too much to check if somebody got run over by car and cannot remember what is that car's plate number. So how? can the police say \"you know, there are 600,000 cars in Singapore. How do you expect us to check every car to see whether it run over you? You better go and find the car's plate number first and then inform us so that we can investigate\". (Obviously, there are very much few kids registering for Phase 2C compared to the 600,000 cars in Singapore).
