Well Yahyan, Im still keeping her for now, in comparison to the last two I had she started off very well but communication is a big problem whn trying to get into detailed stuff. Emphasis in my home is to help my mum and housekeeping. She started off fast, clean and hardworking but is now slackening in her work. Just got to check her work occasionally. Age is a factor when it comes to understanding certain things. She just cant comprehend.... my dd is 11 and does not bother her but my mum finds her too young to take care of her and land up doing her kitchen work. Shes rather short and is not 5 ft as stated in the biodata, she is 2 inches shorter. Hah, most ppl think shes my daughter and I frequently get neighbours n friends askin me how old she is....kind of hard to answer cos she look younger than 18.,,,dont really feel comfortable when she goes out with us. Anyway shes 2 months today and Im still holding on for now cos Im tired and stressed out training mynmars all over again. Really, they lack all the Q\"s ie. EQ, IQ :lol:

Well MOM gave her the W/P so that means they approve of her fraudulent age of 24/25. Shes been to W/P office to get her thumb print and have seen her yet they dont question her age. Being young is one thing but young n coming frm Mynmar makes a whole lot of difference as they are not exposed n dont even know what a house look like until they are here unlike the young indons.
MOM sure know how to state strict requirements for employers but yet allow these young kids to come in without experience to sweep high salaries without any knowledge of english. :evil:

Totally agree with you..she started off clean tho abit slow..but she is quite detailed in doing her work...my mum quite like her..so i guess i will monitor and see how...if she slack or give me prob..i will tell her that she's only 16 and against the law to come here...hahaha

i also told my mum not to let my DD get too close to her...somehow i juz cant forget the ID maid who throw the kid down...my mum say i am over paranoid..but i juz say if i can trust an outsider then i wun hire a maid..i will juz send my dd to the cc instead... :rotflmao:

Oh! I didn't know there is so much problems with Burmese maids. How did you manage without maid? Did you hire part time ones? Have been thinking about it quite often especially now with govt intending to give compulsory off days to maid. If the off days kick in, then I think I might not employ one. Maids without off days alrdy giving so much problem.

Clothes - Washing Machine + Dryer
Floor - iRobot Rhoomba (Automatic Vacuum) + iRobot Scooba (Automatic Floor washer) :imcool:

My maid never had to cook and somethimes she was so slow that I have to help with ironing. So not much of a difference in this area.

External Floor Sweeping - Younger son
Watering plants - Older son
Washing dishes - Husband / me /older son
Toilet washing + windows - me

Maid also never had to wash cars or external flooring (done by hubby). The rest of the stuff which is not done so regularly, we'll just see who can help.

No.1 thing to do when the maid leaves is to re-organise your home. Many things might have gone missing, super dirty or damaged (if your maid is like mine).

The robot cleaners are great help. Though not 100% perfect (like the tight corners) they are still cleaner than my maids. Can feel it when we walk around the house. Plus no BLACK FACES to see, no EXCUSES to hear! :dancing:

fifiyeo, how much did you pay for your iRobot Rhoomba and Scooba? I'm also planning to go maidless when mine finishes her contract.

I got mine from local parallel importers.


I got my Rhoomba 550 for $670 from http://robovac.weebly.com/index.html
It's a small home business but the guy has quite good knowledge about the products.

Then I found this newer player and got my Scooba 380 for $700 from http://autovacstore.com/
The prices at Autovac Store are cheaper 'cos I think they are new and trying to make an entry into the market.

But you might also prefer to pay double the price and get from the official local distributor. Got a friend who felt more comfortable buying from the local distributor.

Anyway, both my irobots are serving me well. :boogie:

@fifiyeo I wish my DH is as cooperative. He wont lift a finger. And I think I will go crazy ironing all the clothes. Haiz maybe must hire part time and buy the irobot. Thanks for the info.

Bigsnoopy - If you get the robots then just hire a part-time maid to help with ironing and toilet washing.


I used to have a part-time maid for about 4-5 months when I stopped hiring Philippino maids and was looking for a Burmese one. But this time round I don't quite have the time to be home for 4 hours twice a week at each go for the maid to finish cleaning 'cos both kids are in Pri school with different hours for at least 3 days in a week. So I went with the robots instead.

My DH is a lazy pig too. But he prefers no maid to having a maid after all the headaches we've had. So he'll just have to help. No Choice! :lol:

Yanyan…Ive been using her age against her when she display some childish act such that she tries her best to change now. Yup I thinku should monitor her for now and if she wants to fraud her age she got to live up to it and learn responsibility.

Angelight, don’t know if these robots suck up a lot of electricity. They work on rechargable batteries and it also depend on how often you use them. I use the Rhoomba everyday so my floor is quite clean. I just manually turn them on for about 10 mins in each room while I do other stuff. I don’t put them on schedule as the cleaning cycle would be longer.


In any case, all my previous maids suck up more electricity. My bills were higher!

Yes yes, so far..she's still acceptable..she know that i know she's only 16 coz yday i reach home..i asked her.. she's abit scared when she realise i know...so hopefully it helps..

Oh and yday she tried to teach me burmese..hahaha...we are watching tv..out of the blue...she tell me wat is call grandma in burmese..etc...i entertain her abit then when she continue i juz feign ignorance..and repeat the word in english...haha...
