I just enrolled my son in this teacher under teacher Lisa in the phonics intermediate class.

I haven’t experienced their lessons directly, but I’ve visited before and taken a look at a little bit of their material. Intuitively I have a good feeling about them. So even though they’re my peers in the industry, I would still say they’re likely to be a good choice. Hope it works out well for your son.

May i know how old is yr son? was thinking of enroling my kids too, one is in K2 & the other is in N2... -
Just a bit of history :
This center has been around for many many years. It used to be reputable for its quality material and very good native teachers (from UK & Australia). About 4 years ago, due to various reasons, some of the experienced native teachers left the school (back to their own country, change in partner’s job posting etc). Since then, the school had a spate of new teachers, some left after 1 or 2 terms, some stayed on. Finally, they removed the ‘native teachers’ aspect from their marketing and started using some local teachers (the one who took my son’s class was NIE-trained).
My son (now upper primary) was in their phonics/writing class from K-P2. As with all other enrichment/tuition center, some teachers are better than others. My personal opinion about this center : the programme is good, the class size is small but I won’t say it is any superior than other phonics programmes I have seen. -
Hi,
I sent my children to another of their branch @ 9 Portchester Avenue #03-01 Serangoon Garden Village.
I perfer the teacher there, especially, Teacher Paul.
He is very passionate and very patient with the children.
This is only my personal view. -
He is 3 years old n 4mths
Teacher lisa was not around hence another teacher took over.
He learnt blending using the word 'at' for his first lesson and to read and understand simple sentences.
As it was his first lesson and he was feeling uneasy, i was allowed to sit in with him for a while.
From what I noticed, the teacher was patient and the lesson was rather interesting.
No complains so far

start them on the right track from a young age, and maybe in future I will have less of a job to do and have to change business

James, not to burst any bubble (yours or other parents), just a skeptical view from a parent who has gone through phonics, maths, chinese enrichments of various sort : Many programmes are written to impress the parents, sometimes too advance for the child's age, too much cramped into the programme. Further, 1 to 1.5hr per week programme, without structured home revision, limited knowledge is retained in long term memory.
Unless there is major change in our education landscape, your ricebowl should be intact. -
