If you do not get Rulang in P2B, then you have 2 choices:Pen88n:
Is Pioneer or Xingnan near your place? Maybe can consider those as back-ups for P2C. At least it ensures you get a place in P2C phase and not till P2C supp
Hi Pen88n,
Pioneer is within 1 km but I am not sure about Xingnan. I am within 1 km of the popular Westgrove but the chance of getting in at phase 2C 1 km is less than 50%. Not too sure if my heart can take that kind of excitement! LOL
(1) ballot at Westgrove for P2C whereby chances based on last year is less than 3 in 1 abt 30% only
(2) apply for Pioneer in P2C and get a CO based on last year's stats
Note: if you want to go to Pioneer under P2C supp (if unsuccessful in Westgrove P2C ballot), chances is need to ballot at P2C supp for under 1km too. -
Anyone has any comments on Dazhong? From stats, this school is not popular at all. Why is the school so unpopular?
-
Meaning that after P2B, unsuccessful PV <2km will be treated as ordinary applicants in P2C. Haiz… lakee sian…
But I find this way is not fair le… since priority is given to nearest to furthest in P2B, should they being push out of P2B, they should be logically given privileged and also taken into account that they have contributed 40hr n above to school. Anyone agree with me ? -

Actually PV is already given opportunity. In the unfortunate scenario of PV and grassroots exceeding number of vacancies in P2B, then there will be ballot conducted based on distance. If PV is given priority again in P2C, then it will be back to earlier case of no vacancies for students staying nearby schoool.Meaning that after P2B, unsuccessful PV <2km will be treated as ordinary applicants in P2C. Haiz.. lakee sian…

If those of you remembered previous time # of vacancies was moved from one phase to another and ended up with lots of PVs and grassroots and no more vacancies for those staying nearby - how fair is this then? This is the reason why the new ruling came out to split the leftover vacancies equally for P2B and P2C to ensure there is cap for # of PVs and those staying nearby has opportunity too. -

You are already given the priority by being able to register one phase ahead. Once this privilege has been exercised, there shouldn't be any more \"privilege\".Meaning that after P2B, unsuccessful PV <2km will be treated as ordinary applicants in P2C. Haiz.. lakee sian…

You can still register your child in the waitlist, though, after the whole P1 registration ends. The school will have a priority list and if you are a PV, you may enjoy some kind of \"privilege\". -

Dazhong is not popular maybe cos they are now at temporary holding site.
the new school building is undergoing major reconstruction and will only be ready by end next yr (according to their website). -
alng:
I do not think they foresee this reduction, which is likely to be due to the school upgrading and getting ready for single session. They only accepted the PVs last Sep. Sigh!
the school should be informed at least 2yrs back.... they have more than enough to make the adjustment for the PV intake since it was only last Sep....KSP:
With Rulang reducing their intake by 1 class or 30, I estimate that about 50% of the PVs will not be successful at phase 2B this year. I am one of those unfortunate PVs.

then the school should have reduced the PV intake 2yrs back..... unless they want free labour.... -
I would like to ask how allocation is given ? say for eg, if a school only has 300 seats :
1A - 150 taken
2A - 50 taken
Will the balance 100 seats be shared among 2B and 2C ? If yes, how much they will allocate to 2B and 2C in general? -
hot:
those who are unsuccessful in P2B can register in P2C but as u know P2C is open to a bigger group too.... i think all schools should have informed the PV right at the beginning that there is no gaurentee for a place in P2B in the case when the applicants is more than the vacancies...Meaning that after P2B, unsuccessful PV <2km will be treated as ordinary applicants in P2C. Haiz.. lakee sian…

i know this is cruel but is the fact and is set by moe... if we want to be in the game, this is the set of rules we have to follow.... -
It's never about fairness, it's about whether you have the guts to go for it should you need to ballot. Sian right? But that's the rule lor.
