Admummy, if your son is very close to your maid, better not to bring him to airport or there may be alot of tears and fuss. Some kids may develop a negative feeling towards airport as a result of the experience. JMHO

Admummy:
First time sending maid of four years back to Java for good...since she's taking the early flight, my plan is to send her to airport while kids sleeping...don't know whether the kids (6, 4 & 18mths) can accept the reality? If bring them along to airport, my youngest for sure will create a scene when his dearest ka ka leaves him...so difficult to \"win\" him over..guess this the price to pay for neglecting him while busy working...ok gotta stop negative thoughts, need advice from you all out there what else I need to do on the eve and actual day of departure to ensure smooth transition? Besides checking luggage and releasing passport closing bank account?...
We switched our 1st maid of 3 months to a 2nd maid when DD was 2+ YO. I guessed it was partially bcos we didnt prepare her in advance, coipled with Terrible Two, DD hated my 2nd maid to the core. The 2nd maid cannot get near DD (when we are around) without DD throwing a mega tantrum. So much so that the 2nd maid asked us to send her back to the agency after one month with us. -

goodness! you must have a hard time pacifying your DD then...so how's the situation now? has your DD finally accepted your 2nd maid...if so, must share how you managed to impore the situation?

For us we purposely got the kids with us to airport so that they face the reality that their aunty is going and new aunty will come.. I included my kids in all the process so they were oredi well prepared...
i think my elder two should be able to cope with the \"departure\" but not no. 3... -

yah...tomorrow will try to minimise her contact with my son.. definitely not to the airport...even i may break down, not to mention my son....although she recently got display some attitude problem but still I'm grateful for all the help she has given me all along...will pray for her good health, safety and happiness... -
I would suggest that you donโt take the children to the airport but you do let them say a proper goodbye so that they understand what is happening. Weโve been through this 3 times and every time I was surprised how they took it in their stride when I was worrying about how they would react!

One of my neighbours was very liberal too. Allowed the maid to have gatherings at her home, so she invites all the neighbouring maids over to her house for a party. Also gets a lot of days off etc...
Wah with Next Door Maid like that, Very Difficult to Discipline your Maid ....Littlefly:
I don't want to 'mother' her if she cannot save. Did encourage her to think long term. Spend in Indo after saving up coz things here v expensive. Come to work not to make bfs. My neighbour's maid whom is her 'best friend' super bad influence on my maid. Neighbour's maid is lucky to have v liberal employer who gave her off each month, wear make-up, wear sexy clothes and carries 2 handphones as got 3 bfs here and even permit her to invite other maids friends home (this bit i don't believe coz she did it while her employers are all out).
And Wear Sexy Clothes :yikes: :yikes:
And Have 3 bf :faint: :faint: -

$34 for slippers![
My maid's slipper is worn out. She doesnt want to wear the cheapo ones that I buy for her and asked to buy and pay herself, which is really fine with me.
She asked to go to BATA and bought a pair of slippers for $34. Must be feeling super rich. She just repaid her loan 2 months ago. -
