We switched our 1st maid of 3 months to a 2nd maid when DD was 2+ YO. I guessed it was partially bcos we didnt prepare her in advance, coipled with Terrible Two, DD hated my 2nd maid to the core. The 2nd maid cannot get near DD (when we are around) without DD throwing a mega tantrum. So much so that the 2nd maid asked us to send her back to the agency after one month with us.

goodness! you must have a hard time pacifying your DD then...so how's the situation now? has your DD finally accepted your 2nd maid...if so, must share how you managed to impore the situation?

ZuEn, also keen to know. My DD1 still don't take to my current maid very well. I wonder why. kids usually takes well to adults who adore them.

My maid's slipper is worn out. She doesnt want to wear the cheapo ones that I buy for her and asked to buy and pay herself, which is really fine with me.

She asked to go to BATA and bought a pair of slippers for $34. Must be feeling super rich. She just repaid her loan 2 months ago.

          $34 for slippers!

          Yes, yes, yes.
Those comfort fit kind. Dun understand why she needs such expensive slippers too. But her $$, so I keep quiet lor.

Nope, DD never accepted the 2nd maid and we were more than glad when she asked to be sent back to the agency after 1 month.

            Admummy, Littlefly,
DD used to spend a few hours alone with my 1st and 2nd maid. So when I had the 2nd maid, I was so worried that she cannot handle DD when they are alone and I was constantly hawking over them through the internet camera. My heart stops whenever I lost connectivity. :nailbite:
When I had the 3rd maid, I made sure that she was never alone with DD. I brought them to my bro's place early in the morning and brought them home after work and my mum helped to supervise my maid. But my maid's main duties then were to take care and play with DD.
Apparently that helps and DD accepted the 3rd maid very quickly. Still, we dont leave the kids alone with the maid now unless neccessary and never for long time.

Jtoh, wah, like that also can? her employer spoil market. :skeptical:

Funx3, my maid yday said she loved parties and asked me if i plan to hold any parties? i stared at her and say i don't even have enough sleep caring for my bb now where got time to organize parties. She is probably too free in my household.
Definitely spoil market. I was so relieved when they moved out.

My maid just told me she need to go call her friend to chitchat 1/2hr. I think my maid really too free n bored. When she repaid her loan end this year I am prepared to let her go if she request off day n handphone. I just need to find a good nanny for my Bb. Anyone got good referrals - AMK area. Thanks!!!

Do u allow your maid to have hp if she is a good maid? i allow my maid to have hp as she needs to call her son and she is quite well behave.

She needs to gain my trust in all areas 1st, then I will allow HP. I think you have to ask yourself, is your maid the matured and responsible kind of person? If yes, I think she should be able to observe her behaviour.

When we had our first maid my husband was against her having a hp but she had one anyway and I just turned a blind eye as did my m-i-l. I don’t think we have the right to cut them off from the rest of the world. My maid knows that she is not allowed to use her phone while she is working and if she forgets to switch it off and someone calls she will tell them to call back later. Without a hp she wouldn’t have anyone to talk to and would be very out-of-touch with what is happening back home which I don’t think is fair.

I allow my ex maid to hold a hp but to find out she woke up in the middle of the night to talk to friends and left most of the housework undone during the day.
