Yea, I do hope I can finish it fast, I don't mind daily.. I was wondering, for girls school, if my hubby is gonna do PV, do u think they will accept it?
Under the PV scheme, once selected and accepted by school, both parents are automatically included for contribution to the 40hours. Some school activities like cooking class will prefer ladies PV, while outdoor like camping will see more guy PV..

In my case, only myself attended the PV selection interview conducted by school.
When I was told of the positive interview outcome, both parents are included in the school PV namelist

        Jav:
Thanks, Luane for your reply. I have submitted for 3 schools for PV & my son is due for P1 Y2012 too. Nan Hua has rejected, whereas the other 2 schools would have to wait till year end for them to do selection.

3Boys, is that why Nan Hua rejected me as I did not include any reply letter - CV? Their form did not indicate they need CV leh.... All I did just feel in all relevant answers to the questions they ask.

We are not a doctor or lawyer which have outstanding / specialised skills. I really think that it is not fair if the school select the PV in that way. Before even the children go into the school, they have already started assessing the parents' ability.

If go by balloting, it's fair & transparent! Just my opinion oni!
        Aiyah Jav,
cold comfort I know, but it is not very fair and not very transparent, what can i say :?

You are right, why load the odds based upon parent's background? I'm speaking a little cheekily when I say CV lah, but don't forget to try and sell yourself a little, even on the one-pager.

Not always true, some schools allow, some don't.

those who did PV, just wondering how the sch allocate the assignments and will there be enough to ensure completion or required hours?

It really depends on the school. I believe generally if you have done a reasonable chunk of time, they will find some way to help you complete the requisite hours.

Autumn82, do note Marymount did conduct balloting under phase 2C for those staying out of 2km in year 2006 (dragon bb cohort).

Oneheart, yes it really depend on individual schools. For mine, the PVG will email all parents whenever they have any assignments. So whoever interested will respond to the email. Generally quite easy to clock the 40 hrs, no problem.
