Entering the war in phase 2C and options are ZDPS (nearest) and CHIJ(Kellock) (no direct bus). RMPS definitely no chance since it is so hot. Other possible options include Cantonment PS and GESPS.
Are you now selecting schools base on the chances of getting in or are you looking for other attributes as well? You can read the Bukit Merah Primary School thread to know more about the schools.
Since you list ZD and CHIJ first, I take it they are your preferred choices?
For ZD, from previous history, there's a possibility of balloting for between 1-2km. How near is your home distance to the school?
For CHIJ, of the last 5 yrs, only no ballot for last year. Again how far is your home from the school?
AS for GES and Cantoment, there's no balloting thus far. But there's balloting for GES during P2C Supp.
So if you prefer ZD and CHIJ, I suggest to monitor the number of applicants. Check with the school on the 3rd day to see how many applicants and if there's balloting, which distance are they balloting at. You can then decide which school to register. Registration ends at 4.30pm. so you will need to be mindful of the time.
Good luck. -

 there are other options  , enrichment/tuition centres, DVDs
Saw images of the book online, but reading that 30 pages of instructions in Chinese will probably kill me first! :scared:SAHM_TAN:
Parents will have to read 30 pages of instruction. For each lesson, the author will have suggestion on how to teach each character.
There's no English, so have to understand the language. -
@SAHM_Tan By the way, do you know if Gan Eng Seng Secondary is a good school and is Gan Eng Seng Pri affiliated with Gan Eng Seng Sec?
-
Thanks, SAHM_TAN. Yes, ZD and CHIJ is our choice. ZD is a short walk away but the take up rate has recently increased. CHIJ is kind of inconvenient to go to but I feel that it has a better environment, especially in teaching English, but I may be wrong about this.

I have a friend that has a girl and a boy. Put the boy in RMPS and the girl in CHIJ and he commented his DD’s english is better than his DS.

There's no affiliation.
Affiliated school listing: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/affiliated-schools-listing
Sec School COP: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/3-year-official-psle-cop-2009-2011-secondary-1-intake
The COP is a guage of one aspect of sec school. It just mean the lowest point accepted into the school. There are other aspects to a school. I do not know enough about the school to comment. My DH's niece is in there and she seems to thriving there. -

Interesting. I had assumed that GESPS and GESSS were affiliated. -
guqin:
Nope, my sources are the MOE website and the school affiliation lists link, done by another KPS parent, that I posted in the previous post.SAHM_TAN:
