Thanks for replying to my post.
I live less than 1km from BPPS. my son is born 2007.
I did call up the school but only take applications next year Jan 2012 - Jun 2012 for 07 kids. such a long wait..
Care to share what was the selection process like and what kind of questions they asked you during interviews? And after accepted, what typical PV programmes are there other than those I've mentioned in my earlier post?? Sorry for the questions, but doing this the 1st time and wanted to do as much research as possible to increase my chances and also to know what I'm getting myself into...cheers.
I think the PV applications will be out ard Feb 2012. As what i say before, they accept all the PV. Have some briefing with the PV and no interview at all. The task will be like excursions, sport day, help out in IT and etc. All will be by email. !st come 1st serve so u must always log in to your email and send it fast. U stand a high chance getting in to BPPS as u stay within 1km. As for PHPS, there is a balloting outside 2km but only few places so u try BPPS better. -

Thanks so much for the clarification. Can you and/or other KS Parents please help with 2 other questions:
If that being the case, you need to move to within 1km to improve your chance. I won't say that it will ensure you are not in the balloting risk, becos next year within 1km P2B might even have to ballot, who knows?1amber:
Hi
Thanks for that. Found out from the latest Ph1 analysis. Seems like Ph2B has a 40% chance of ballotingat 1-2km. So does that mean we need to move closer to ensure we are not in this risk? Am I interpreting correctly? Hope experienced KS parents can help :thankyou:
You improve your chance by being within 1km in case there is ballot or maybe no chance for 1-2km.
1. For the place that is within 1km, does it matter if I purchase or just rent? I am considering just renting.
2. Do I have to stay at that place throughout my child's 6 years? If I can rent, can I just rent for short term first to tide over the registration date? If I am successful in getting into the school, then I wouldn't mind staying a few more years. But if I am not successful, then I don't want to be stuck with the rental property. I current have a property ust 1-2km away.
Really appreciate advice from all you seasoned KS parents out there :thankyou: -

Address Used for Registration
The address to be used for the registration of children in the Primary One registration is the official residential address on the parents’ NRIC. This address will be used to determine the home-school distance category.

Hi
My friend has done a few sessions of PV in a primary school. During these few sessions of PV, she found that she does not like this particular school. Can she discontinue her PV since she has now decided that she would not like to register her DD in this school ? -
Certainly! It is Parent VOLUNTEER…no contract signed to say that you must complete the 40 hours.

Most definitely she can withdraw since it is voluntary but bear the consequences of not being welcome to reapply or admitted should she wish to apply in future.Hi
