buds, you never cease to amaze me with the way you always get thru watever you encounter, no matter how unbearable it is. I wish I had half of your resilience and perseverance.

terry, unfortunately when the men go out to work... all they see are colleagues in cool suits and dresses plus pretty made up faces... and on the way back in the trains are more babes & their group of friends... for husbands who have to entertain clients beyond office hours, lagi best... they see even more. So aniwaes, while most of us SAHMs like myself.. we tend to say that / use the same line as immediate response.. just a while to look at this in another perspective.
Truth be told. I had this issue with hubs myself. I can remember it like it happened only yesterday. He literally said i wasn't nice to look at anymore, that i had to do something about myself..
ILs called me names like whale.. and some others i dun care to repeat.
Think of it as a dish. If you were asked to sample two dishes on a plate would you go for one looking pale and bland or something whipped up aesthetically pleasing? Hence the pun ppl usually use that men like to eat outside dishes...
It was the saddest day of my life as a wife and mom. It hurt so bad. It was a wake up call for me. I tried to find many reasons to justify ppl being mean to me what more from the ppl i care abt a lot... but i couldn't. In the end, i told myself that i had got to do it for me... for myself. So that i can stay healthy and have more energy for my children.. so that i can fit into better clothes.. so that i dun look like a maid when i take my children out.. so that i have the confidence to be the old me. Mebbe not as youthful but definitely as presentable. The nui chiang ren (career woman) all confident, sassy and able. I can still be all that and be a successful SAHM. So i did..
I didn't say it was easy or it didn't come across obstacles but it was worth it.
We gotta learn to appreciate ourselves too. Take things in positively and the same positive energy will and can resonate with those around us. :hugs:
It takes the first step...
And then you'd be on your way.. -

Hubby used to work from home...so I cook a 1-dish meal. Now that he has moved to another dept and have to go office everyday, kids and I will go to parents' place for meals...dad will pick them after school and we all go there. -

Puff, why don't you cook one or 2 dishes, and 'dabao' another dish from 'zhichar' stall outside. That's what I do sometimes for varieties.
Another way is to get a cook book for new recipes ideas. puff:

Hi Angelight
Heh I dun dare try new recipes idea fr cook book coz always turn out bad till DH :siam: .
DD still quite sweet :\" mummy this new dish is nice but not as nice as the other dish \"
So now I only cook those dish that I already know.
As for tabao fr outside I lazy to leave the house leh weather too hot
δΈθδΈζ±€ for me is really difficult maybe twice every week, the rest of the week is 1dish meal or DH tabao.
Weekend eat out .
Last time when staying with my mom got nice home cook food I dunno how to appreciate , now I super miss her cooking ( mayb getting old liao always think of the past  ) -
i'm like puff. i cook same old stuff. initially when kids were very young and we were overseas it was because i am more used to asian stuff but there wasn't an asian mart near us so the only western veg in the supermarts there that i like to cook would invariably be broccoli, carrot, potato. not much leafy greens like xiaobaicai that kind.
if i cook leafy green there, i had to buy their spinach which they use for salads, which is more exp than here.
so always cook that kind of simple stuff, until, even after we came back to Sg and i started having so much choice at the wet market or supermart, i still had to cook the old stuff!!!!! why?!?!? cos my boys were so used to those stuff that other new things i cooked, they didn't eat much!
but now with dd, Dh and I feel we must start her off young, to have a more varying palate. so i do cook more variety now, and with the boys, i still have to cook a familiar staple and make them eat a teeny bit of the \"new\" stuff each day.
hope by the time they go NS, they can eat everything, else die lah...
that said, i also don't need to cook everyday like buds lah... quite fortunate.
my mom lives nearby, she often cooks, eat at her place about 3x a week?
then we visit ils once a week, so eat with them. on sundays, we dine out cos we are usually out.
i don't mind the cooking part actually, but dislike the cleaning up.

Wow you gals so ε₯½ε½ no need to cook.
My mum lives 2 blocks away but we hardly have meals at her place, probably twice a month or at most handful times a month. She doesn't want the commitment to cook for us daily or frequently. To prepare δΈθδΈζ±€ is very time consuming & will affect her active social life
I don't like to cook or do housework but am kind of stuck with the job description. So if house gets messy, I will have bad mood and everyone will kanna from me
