NH alumni is $300 . I heart pain :moneyflies: DH insist must join

Well.... we are all ksp.... I joined my school alumni when my dd1 was 1 yr old so that I can convert to a lifetime membership in 2 years time. As worried later they even phase by length of alumni membership 🤷

Can't remember how much i paid... Though no balloting for phase2 before, but as a ksp just want to get ahead 1 phase earlier.... 2A1 iso 2A2. Peace of mind earlier.

I think the alumni fees for primary school is strange. I mean, old boys and girls are auto alumni already, so why must pay fees?

For uni, I don’t need to pay alumni fees and they have not excluded me as an alumni.

          Hi fellow parents,

I am wondering if any one of you have come across my situation.

I studied in ACS primary (coleman st) from primary 1 - 3 and was subjected to streaming in primary 3. My result weren’t good enough for me to continue in ACS primary and was then sent to another school.

In your opinion, am I still eligible to be considered as an old boy and register for category 2A1 ?

          Your feedback is much appreciated.

          Cheers.

          yes

          Thank you, cheers.

MOE rule only that ex-pupils who studied in that school. I recall someone only studying in a school for 1 year - also can qualify under 2A. Just turn up with your report book.

            thank you.

Wow! Well, there are people who spent thousands of dollars just to get themselves some sleep. Heart pain only for a while only what. That may earn you few nights of peaceful sleep right? 🤷

That's exactly wat DH tell me too

                Annual or lifetime membership?

Lifetime. If join annual need to pay twice in order to qualify for 2a1 ( they collect every 1st Jan). Both will end up paying same amt.

I assume your hubby is an old boy and is therefore assured of a place there? Personally I feel that if you have a chance to get into ACS, go for it. It’s the one school that has the full range of primary, secondary and post-secondary to cater for their students, weak or strong academically. For secondary, the stronger students can opt for ACSI, the weaker ones for ACSB. At post-secondary, there’s IB at ACSI or A levels at ACJC. There’ll be little stress in terms of finding a good secondary school or JC once you’re in the system.

Tampines is a little far, but friends who live as far away as Tampines, Sembawang, Seletar etc who go to ACS say it’s worth it and after all, you have the expressways to make the journey shorter.

i also pay $300 for 'insurance'. puff, it's worth it!

other schools like ACS alumni fee is $500.
