Sure! So long as you are using your address in your NRIC.Hi,
I'd like to ask if we make an SD, is it alrite if we decide not to make use of it later?
thanks! -
Hi Parents, just to share our experience on Statutory Declaration. One of the required docs is birth (BC) for proofing the relationship bet parent & grandparent. As I m not sure where hubby put his BC, I called up MOE to check whether there is other alternative doc can show the proof. I was then told that if our marriage cert shows my father in law as witness then it would suffice the requirement. However, when hubby went down to MOE, the marriage cert was rejected & it must be BC. Then I called MOE hotline to reconfirm & the guy said yes but then when I said hubby is right at the counter service & his colleague is not accepting the doc, i was put On hold & he apologized that he had provided incorrect info. I was so xx$??$$@& so parents, learning fr my mistake, any confirmation always good to back up with written confirmation.

Hi Parents, I’m very new here, just wanted to ask the following :
if i do a SD to set the address to be my parent-in-law’s place and I do PV in the school of my choice, then which priority will be given ? is it the PV priority or the 1-2km priority ?
thank you -
PV puts you in phase 2B. Distance doesn’t get you into any earlier phases.
Distance matters only when allocating places.
So in your case, you will be registering in 2B because of your PV. But your 1 - 2km will put you behind those other PVs (and others who qualfy for 2B) who live within 1km when places are being allocated. -

You'll be registering under Phase 2B for PVs, and if there's balloting, within the 1-2km priority, even if your relative stays within 1km of the school.Hi Parents, I'm very new here, just wanted to ask the following :

Luanee:
If u registering in NanChiau under 2B and ur mum stays 1-2 km from the school, u can make a statuotory declaration that your kid is taken care of by ur mum, and u can use her address safely and openly. U will qualify for 1-2 km category. Not to worry if u use another address for 2C (your own address) since it was made known the one u used in 2B was ur mum's.
So parents with SD literally has 2 addresses as options...? Has anyone made a SD but didn't use it in the end? -

but 'kaisu_daddy' is not using the in-law's address. His address is changed to be same as in-law's address by SD, hence is same as his own address, so no penalty in distance by one category further. so he should be same as any other PV parents in the same distance concerned.... provide he does not flout HDB rules .... -

I don't think so. If you're going to change your address, you don't need an SD. Based on what kiasu daddy wrote, I'm assuming he's making an SD to use his in law's addy, meaning that his in-laws are primary caregivers. If that's the case the 1-2km proximity applies. -

Yes, you have two addresses to work with. But if MOE investigates, you'd better have a reason for how suddenly your in laws are primary caregivers and suddenly not. -
The kid is not staying with the caregiver, only take care by cg. So if use own address, grandparent will come to my house. If use their address then kid go to their house & after work dinner then go home. This is for my case!
