Myanmar maids

At least u tried. I haven't leh. At first I thought Burmese maid better but now after reading this thread, I start to have cold feets alrdy. Must learn to appreciate my current maid. Although she is slow and not very hygienic, she doesnt steal my food as of now after 8 months. I cannot tolerate stealing leh not even food.

My friend taught me a way which I find quite useful:

I tell the maid everything in my house she can eat except those I specify (of course just a small category otherwise not effective). Whatever they eat they must save some for us. At first they will tend to overindulge, put on weight but after a while they also 'sian'. After all, they also want to look nice (no pimple means no chocolates), and thin (no gorging). There is something about forbidden food which makes it sweeter isn't it...?

By making it permissible to eat whenever and whatever they like I remove the irritation of seeing them 'steal' food. So far it has worked for me.

Actually after reading all these posts, I have decided to close my eyes more since this is typical of them. Put up with some nonsense and get my daily routine running. From my experience, being stressed without help is worse than being stressed about your help. Unless something bad happens - e.g. she walks into my bedoom (despite being told many times NOT to) and sees me half dressed. :yikes:

Wa! That's weird! Talking to a non living thing. Sometimes they may do it on purpose so that we can fire them and they can go back home.

Peapot, this crazy maid was sent back to the agent and got another employer. I got a call from her new employer after she started working there for 2 weeks. They had found out number written on her notebook. OMG, they were having a hell time with her and her lies! Felt sorry for them 'cos they just had a newborn. Come to think of it....I don't know how I even tolerated her for 4 months.

Yes sure I believe we all can. All of us choose how we want to spend our time. For me now it is NOT housework.

Don’t know about your homes, but mine was quite messy when I had my maids. My mom used to come by and pull me aside to tell me how dirty my kitchen was …how untidy the living was…She couldn’t understand why it was so and why I won’t help clean up the mess.


Yesterday she came by (been awhile since she last popped by) and she actually said that my place was much cleaner than when I had maids.

You see, I had to close my eyes and not help the maid when I had one. Because whenever I helped, the maid will stop doing it. So I had a choice - leave the house untidy and dirty or become the maid for the maid to boss around. I’m sure many of you have experienced this.

I prefer to take a fresh filipina and try to contdition her frm the start. problem is they tend to get very ambitious and have high demands.

Indons would be a good choice for housework n cooking but My dd tends to fall ill when we employ Indons.

My agent recentlu mentioned that vietnamese have been approved to work here.
I understand the Cambodians dont have 10 yrs education and no english too

Moonee, is it true that now vietnamese can work here as maids? From what I know from friends and relatives, most would prefer to work here as \"you know what\" rather than maids becos they can earn more...not sure how true that is.


But I've personally seen some Vietnamese women (quite pretty ones) working as escorts (I guess becos of their sexy dressing and there were a few of them with a man, like their agent). I saw them at the airport queueing to check in, they were holding Vietnamese passports. So I think the pretty ones would rather come here and find Sporean husbands than to work as maids. JMHO.

Hahahaha........lots of people I know all have the same thoughts about the Vietnamese maids. So far none of my friends dare to try.
