Sounds quite alike 🙂 Only difference is, I gotta add on 2 elderly whom I need to chauffeur to & fro from work and eldercare everyday   In between, mop urine, disinfect house, and sometimes clean shit (literally poo) cos' FIL uncooperative & dirty all over (toilet, corridoor, hall, chairs, walls). :frustrated:  It was the most terrible years of my life.....now, got a helper cos' FIL kena kicked out of the eldercare (for misbehaving & uncooperative) and now gotta be home 24x7 plus became weak recently and cannot walk liao. 😓 😢

Before the PILs came along, tho busy I was actually quite happy being a SAHM.
Frankly, now I often wonder if I should dump everything and go back to work. MIL not easy too and she will be quite difficult (get on nerves and yells and nags and denies/lies).....then there's a maid still to handle. I loathe to think about the day when she will stop working. Wonder will I go crazy then :scared:
oh dear, indeed, it's tough. Dh's grandma just passed away and before that she was incontinent and refused to wear adult diapers (she can't control both bowel and urine) so her caregivers had to clean everything all the time too.

actually we all have to be prepared one day we have to do these too, since our parents and pils getting older as well.

you deserve pat on shoulder for doing all these, your children will see your filial piety!

You can do it. My DD2 CL was very good and helped me to recuperate. I had rosy cheeks

So you planning not to bathe and wash hands with boiled water only?

I used the Chinese herbal water to baths. For me I find that I need to use boiled water to wash my hands. My 2nd confinement I didn't and my hands became very stiff. My 3rd and last one, I used and no problems with my hands.

I :please: confinement food, the pig trotter's vinegar yummy. All the wholesome goodies.

After the first wk, I find time flies by. Maybe you want to get some books, videos to pass the time. I find HK TVB series very addictive, Jap series also good to watch, I perfer Jap to K drama. But I think bb will keep you busy. 😄

Terry, I think chasing chickens and swimming in the rivers are very exciting activities. Very fun. I'm sure you have happy memories of your childhood right? Kids should enjoy your childhood. Let them have a memorable and joyous childhood!

Actually, there are a lot of fun things kids can do that are memorable, bond the family and yet learn at the same time too!

I can think of a lot of things that can be learnt while chasing chickens and swimming in the rivers! 🙂

I remember playing in those huge drains... Canals... Scooping up tadpoles and BBQ-ing them over fire on a stick. We were tasked to rake the leaves to one corner to burn. I remember burning more than just dried leaves...intentionally... out of sheer curiosity. I remember being chased by the neighbors whose homes I almost burnt down. :siam: Playing rounders with a wooden plank without thinking whether we'd get blisters or whether there were splinters in the planks. The tennis ball would make banging sounds on everybody's wooden windows n no one screamed anything blasphemous. We were kids out of their (parents) hair doing our own stuff.

We'd go walk right in with our friends to their homes to get water to drink during breaks. We even shared cups; one cup with a few frenz with our salty sweat and wet lips. What hfmd? We played in the rain too. No fever leh..

Alamak, now look what u hv done... :slapshead: ...gettin' me all nostalgic.
