NMOS 2011 - Special Round Results

Yes, Maths Hub has a way of contacting parents of students who made it through to NMOS Special Round. I think they produce some Math magazine which a lot of kids subscribe to so they have a database.

My son attending the OM in school.But the last day he didn’t go.The last day was the exam.He is a irresponsible boy!.
could you please tell me about how important this exam?

Your ds' school hasn't informed him that he got into Special Round yet? That's odd. Better call the school to check. If they don't run regular Math Olym classes I don't think they will run special classes just for the special round.

It's probably just a test they make the kids take at the end of their course. It's not a national olympiad so not important.

Is the class your son attending by selection or an enrichment? If it's by selection, then the test may have a consequence on whether he gets to continue with the training. If it's for enrichment, the test doesn't matter.

DS has attended Math Olym classes organise by sch. But it's conducted by external vendor for 1 semester. So I guess this is not consider as regular Math Olym Class right? In this case, unlikely there will be special class. My DS is quite demoralise when he saw the special round questions. He said it's very difficult.

You have one that's applying for DSA right? So he's in P6? You have another in P5?

Tell your son to just try his best. If he finds it tough, so will a lot of the other kids.

I only have 1. He's in P5. But have been following DSA thread to learn more about DSA. Kiasu right??? that's y I'm in this forum... :rotflmao:
I told him to zoom into questions that he thinks he can handle. It's ok if he couldn't complete the questions. I'm now trying my best to coach him on past years questions... for those that I can handle myself.
