We started with $2.50 until the older nieces and nephews had a open discussion then we realise we are \"overpaying\"

It's now $2 and on CCA days, it will be $4. Most of the time, my boy will put the $ in his piggy and choose to bring home snacks. But the temptations at the bookshop is always there esp if they are the shopping type. BTW, I heard from my boy, that one of his classmate get $10 a day (for us that is too excessive) to be used in school.

BTW, there is a popular bookstore in new school and they can use the popular membership for discount. I was thinking that in the future besides exercise books, files and buddhist workbook, I will just buy the text books directly from popular.

MMM, thanks for all the sharing. I'm thinking of volunteering for recess, more for the selfish reason of keeping an eye on my son 😉

You asked why I'm waiting till P1 for Molin. My main reason for wanting to send him to Molin is to get him to learn to write. He's quite good in terms of work recognition and HYPY. But his writing is terrible--don't know how to write + ugly writing. And he's been doing badly in his ting xie.
By the way, did anyone try Kumon's Chinese program?

Could it be due to readiness???

Even up till term 2, my boy's teacher commented about his handwriting. He can't write his sirname because there are too many strokes. But with beginning term 3, his strokes improved significantly. I gather that he is probably more ready now.

No offence but personally, I always find kumon maths ok but language is \"wierd\" as I always have this perception that kumon's core competence is just not in language and there are other experts out there for languages. But kumon maths, it inculcates discipline but I switch my boy after 1 yr as I am concern if it does not have a good coverage on creative thinking/ analysis skills since under kumon, kids perfect through practising the same stuff over and over again. Sorry I am just sceptical

Actually my kids are in enopi maths now (also repetition worksheet though not as much but they also cover problem sums and other critical thinking exercises). Enopi also has english and the teacher asked me to consider changing them from british council..... I was like???? Enopi English???? no matter what the teacher say, I am still sceptical. Maybe I just have a perception problem.

MMM, it seems like you and I have the same perceptions about the various enrichment services 🙂 Maybe because we drink the same Geylang water?
