Traditionally, the hotter the school, the more likely is the bulk of the people eligible for Phase 2A2 to be registered on the FIRST day. Popular schools like Nanyang Primary will only have between 10-30% more registrants on the 2nd day, with respect to the entire Phase 2A2.

So, just relax...

Registered my boy at SJIJ.. At least secured a place though kinda far from home. Now wait for 2C to see how's the apps for Hougang Pri...

SJIJ is a better school, why bother 2C? Hougang to SJIJ is not too far.

My hubby worry abt logistics... Hougang just 2 blocks away.. so wanted to try there or next year need to go through this again for my DD.

So if you want to predict the total number of registrants for a particular school, just take the first day's number and multiply by 150%. That will give you the upper bound for that school.

Of course, for the less popular schools with 0 registrants on the 1st day, that single registrant on the 2nd day will be 100% That doesn't count.

So, just relax...

Chief.. indeed comforting to know for sure won't have ballot for P2A2.. just can't help worrying..

looking at the fig in Ai Tong, it may happen one day that parents need to ballot at P2A2...can't imagine if AT reduces the enrolment by 1 class in future....

I think many parents are playing it safe by registering at Phase 2A and monitoring their chances at 2B and 2C in other schools. We may see an increase in 2A numbers for many schools going ahead, with more parents doing whatever they can to maximize their chances by covering all bases… So while birth rates remain low, it will be even harder getting into the popular schools…

My daughter is eligible for phase 2B to School P which is far to my home (1hr by bus) and phase 2A2 to School Q near to home (10 mins by bus).School P is better to School Q, but I think near to school is most important. Is my decision correct ?

Gosh! Just checked the vacancies left after 1st day of 2A2 registration...and I'm beginning to panic!!! :nailbite:

me too... looking at the results... out of 180 vacancies, already 79 registered at P1... that left 101 vacancies... then 0 at P2A(1)... but 9 registered at P2A(2)... so remaining 92 vacancies left for P2B onwards..

still gt later today leh... 12 july..

assuming that no one else registers tmr or rather later today (nw already 1205am), take 92 divided by 2... each 46 vacancies for P2B & P2C...

if at P2B, all vacancies taken up under PV, church/clans/associations...

P2C hw to fight with only 46 vacancies... :scared:

can i ask that no one registered at P2B... so at least there are all 92 vacancies for P2C..

or at least less than half of 46 registered at P2B... so the remaining vacancies will be push forward to P2C...

and i fall under P2C... :gloomy:
