      Hi,

Not only does Samuel study hard, but he is also active in sports. ("but" optional, to reduce "stiffness" in prose). The question is testing the use of the correlative conjunction "not only… but also".

Rarely does my father show any sadness. This question is not testing much except rearranging phrasal order, with the inclusion of the linking verb "do".

            Hello yingxuan πŸ™‚

            your 2nd one is correct.

for the first, you need the past perfect.

The salesgirl would not have admitted to the theft if the footage had not been captured on the security camera.

This one is difficult, anyone can help?

Melvin was offered a high salary. Yet he was not tempted to take up the job.
                  Even the _______________________________________________________

                  thanks.

Sentence conjugation and rephrasing skills. Testing if your child can rearrange the subjects and predicates in a sentence, or a series of sentences. Testing also if your child can switch between active and passive voices.

Even the offer of a high salary did not tempt Melvin to take up the job.

Hello. Was just wondering if it should have been:
Karen is allowed to use the art materials provided that she puts them back in their original positions after using them.

In the present tense, the subject-verb agreement is critical.
