wonder if anyone has statistics how many of this 65% is imported. It maybe possible we are in fact tending towards the minority.
many locals have been saying this too1amber:
65% population increase since 1990...
our meteoric rise as a casino centre...
I almost cannot recognise this as my country ... :scratchhead:
sometimes when taking bus/train and surrounded by so many foreigners, I feel like I am in the minority..

the worst is to receive bad service from them and yet made to feel as if we were in the wrong or were being difficult or silly. -

They employ PRCs and these girls speak incomprehensible English. Then when one elderly man told her to speak English, another PRC customer started deriding Singaporeans for not being able to speak Chinese, not knowing our roots etc etc. C'mon. That man could have been a foreigner for all you know. -

I have taken public buses driven by PRC drivers and when stopped by tourists or commuters who speak only English and enquiring about the bus routes, the drivers just shake his head... and there are many instances of service staff not able to speak or understand English at all.

Once at Guardian pharmacy an Indian national was so peeved at a PRC staff who only shrugged her shoulders when asked for help. He then approached a local staff and complained about it. Tourists and non locals will think that's singaporean rude service... :slapshead:I have taken public buses driven by PRC drivers and when stopped by tourists or commuters who speak only English and enquiring about the bus routes, the drivers just shake his head... and there are many instances of service staff not able to speak or understand English at all.

They can cut short advertisement. so much time on advertisement, yet no time to just make a short message on local news?
too many recently so if the TV news report and update on every case, I think the 30 mins (less advertisement) will be taken up entirely :stupid:Oppsgal:
The dead bodies news not on tv :?
Why never appear in local tv news? -
If cannot cut short advertisement, then cut short on other countries news, like china etc. In Malaysia, the news are mostly about local news…not so much focusing on other countries.
