The premium for small cars rose S$5,745 to S$55,989.
The COE price in the open category increased S$3,321 to S$68,811.
Meanwhile, the premium for big cars rose S$801 to S$68,501.
For goods vehicles and buses, the COE price was S$1,501 higher at S$32,590.
The COE price for motorcycles climbed S$70 to S$2,360.

THOSE shopping for a 1,600cc car or a motorcycle in the next six months can breathe a bit easier - COE supplies for the two vehicle categories are bigger for the August-January period.
Those who are in the market for bigger cars or commercial vehicles on the other hand should brace themselves for higher prices on the back of an even tighter COE supply.
Car buyers on the whole however, will see a 2.5 per cent dip in quota, from 2,526 certificates a month to 2,463. This includes the number of Open COEs, which is used predominantly by car buyers.
Overall, COE supply for the next six months remains pretty flat (at 3,721 per month, from 3,728), as the slide in supply for bigger cars and commercial vehicles is offset by bigger quotas elsewhere. -

My COE probably not so fast as car probably only arrive in October. So still got time.... But looking at the trend, they say higher COE is here to stay. My price is fixed so I only pray for higher COE so that I've higher paper value and when we sell off in 6-7 yrs? time, we can take back more.Eh? Still not yet secure COE? Good news, but me abit more greedy....

Eh? Remember we bought our car new because the resale cars are more $x high to their higher COEs.... Doubt can sell 2nd hand easily if COE come down in 6-7 yrs time. Yes, scrap value higher due to COE. Though we remain unconvinced we need to pay higher price for car + higher interest due to car loans just to have higher scrap value? :scratchhead:
