Like you.. I am also quite cautious about what i said infront of ds.. cos at his age.. he tends to pick up and use it.. :faint:Ok! time to be serious har... People at the other thread seriouly talking about p1 reg phase and all we keep talking about is bath and dinner. Still talk about sign pettition to MOE leh. So we better choose a more appropriate topic to talk.. I start first.
Do you speak Singlish at home?

Mummies, you can eat dinner at home without bathing first? For me, when I reach home, one of the first things that I do is to bathe. Or else I feel as if I have brought dirt into my home. Now that I have covered the bathing topic, I can move on to other things :rotflmao:
For me.. I usually bath first upon reaching hm den dinner.. -

We speak Mandarin at home, so no problem with Singlish
When we do speak English, I tend to mah, lah, so my DH will remind me to be careful
-
Singlish? ya i speak Singlish with friends and at casual places like hawker center
at home, try not to, but sometimes lah, lor, meh.
indeed, in Pr sch, it is inevitable.
we were overseas for 3 yrs cos of Dh, and both ds were young then. they picked up proper English, even with accent, sounds cute when they’re so small. no Singlish at all.
but the moment we returned, within 2 weeks, they learnt everything… all the Singlish…
within 1 month in P1, started coming home and asking me what does xxxx mean?
all those words which I tried hard not to use at home, or don’t let them hear from TV… still they will hear it from school mates. esp the older kids (upper pri). -
