Mrs Jenny Yeo has always been a very hands-on and dynamic Principal, hence I don't think it is fair to say that she's sitting on the backbench and waiting for retirement.


She has done a lot during her stint in South View and she has definitely brought the school to a whole new level.

I did not say that she is waiting for retirement. I merely said that she's sitting on the backbench. She's still working hard behind the scene but a lot of frontend activities are being run by the VPs. Questions raised by parents are being directed to them, prize presentations are being done by them and they appear in the school more often than her. I feel that she's grooming them to take over her place. However, she still makes her presence felt as she expresses strong indication of the school's directives. She even sang the school songs in front of the parents but one can see that she's trying to stay behind the scene now.

I could be sharing too much, but what a good principal can do is to ensure continuity even when she’s not there, and that’s what I see in SV. Many a times, parents only interact with the teachers or HODs and personally, I feel that it’s not just the P that needs to be hands-on but the team that runs the school. Many little experiences that I have encountered, I get them instead, and so far, despite little issues here and there which is normal in schools, I see the team does working hard to carry on the good work that’s been laid down.
