Travel: Malaysia - Genting
-
i used Starmart coach ,bought one way ticket$35/person to genting
Left on friday morning 8am thru 2nd link tuas
experinced ADDITIONAL 2 hour delay @ both singPORE n malaysian CHECK-POINT, I THINK it,s due to both INcreased passenger volume[school hols}
and the finger printing for new entrants, under 12 not required
no separate Q : fingerprint part of same immigration processing
if u could avoid school hols season ,no need to pay to Q,no need topay Peak season room rates.
FIRSt world plaza has lots of shops but i didn’t shop as i brought children to theme park, for weekend ,best to start at 8am as the q is worse from 10 am t0 5pm and indoor park closes at 6pm and if going on a weekend peak season may want to buy more expensive express pass as certain q could be upto 1.25 hr for more popular rides during peak time
i dinn’t buy Holiday card as it was my first time going in 18 years -
cannot get world club room in sep holiday
how about superior deluxe room at first world hotel?
i know room is in tower2 but no real picture to see
is it big enough for 3A1C? -
I also planning to go September school holiday where departing on 2 Sep. Wonder really worth to pay so much for the room & especially it would be very crowded & have to queen for very long time. The kids are in school & guess have to go during school holiday unless we can apply leave from the school for our children?

eurostar:
Eurostar, please be prepared to queue for a couple of hours for check-in to your room if you are going there during Singapore or Malaysia school holidays. If you are going in Dec, it'll be more than that .....I finally settle with FW hotel superior deluxe room for sep school holiday

Planning for a genting trip end of the year. Planning to drive from Singapore. Could someone advise what are the decent n proper air con restaurants along the highway? Will be bringing 2 young kids so prefer not to eat at those hawker centre type of places n prefer to have either fast food or at a air con restaurant. Any advise. My ds are also very particular the cleanliness of the toilets…where is the good stop that you would recommend?

Hi workhomemummy
If you drive along the NS highway to KL, you will reach the Ayer Keroh exit at about 200km from JB. The Ayer Keroh exit goes to Melaka. Continue straight ahead and the speed limit drops to 90 km/h. After a few minutes drive ahead is an exit to a food centre which I think is not the type you want. Go ahead for a few more km and you should see an exit sign leading to R&R Jejantas Ayer Keroh. Turn to R&R Jejantas Ayer Keroh and you will come to a reasonably decent looking place. There are some coffee shops and shops selling souvenirs in front of the car park. Walk along the centre aisle and you will come to a KFC and A&W fast food outlets. The toilets are in front of the car parks. They are OK.
Hope this meet your needs. -
Thanks for the advice, pojo!
