      schellen:

Maybe he thinks you have ulterior motive to transfer him out of his current sch? šŸ˜‰
Yes he knows i have, but doesn't know the details šŸ˜“
The other day he was complaining why I enrolled ds2 in a different kindergarten than his and complained about me being unfair (cos he finds ds2's kindergarten compound more 'interesting'). Besides telling him that different schools caters to kids with different interests, I also told him that now that he rejected my proposal of a transfer, he cannot raved about me being unfair when his bro goes into a different pri sch next time.
That definitely shut him up. šŸ˜‰

        Hi all

I just want to sound a little note of caution to parents who are thinking of transferring their kids to another school after P1/P2 .
Better do it fast, hor. šŸ˜„

A while ago I heard that MOE is looking into transfer practices in secondary schools. My source tells me that schools are being discouraged from directly accepting transfers of students, even after stringent testing/interviewing. Apparently the thought is that there should be some kind of centralized process through MOE. Heard that the independent schools are not very pleased about this.
I'm just wondering, will good old MOE turn to look at primary schools next? 😐 After all, parents complain incessantly about perceived faults in the primary school registration process, and I've definitely heard of parents complaining to MOE about transfer practices too : how come so-and-so can transfer to XYZ School while my ah-boy has been rejected even though his SA2 results are just as good??

So, for all those parents who are thinking of just registering somewhere and transfer out after P1/2, I'd say, better don't take it for granted that you will definitely have this option forever and ever and ever...

Hi, I have registered my girl in a co-ed school already for P1 next year. But I still want to try for a girls school. So, in this case, can I go and wait list at a few at the same time. How high are the chances of getting a transfer before the academic year starts in Jan 2010? btw, am i in the right thread?

actually for transferring school, do you consult your kids? or they are suppose to go with whatever you have decided?

As for me i ask my daughter first & at the same time.. we kind of put everything on paper so she could understand it better. At 1st she didn't want to transfer to a new school.. but after the discussion of pros & cons (with lotsa arrows  ) .. she can't wait for the school transfer (if she's accepted nxt yr šŸ™ )
The reasons that she gave me.. \"although i will miss my friends, once I'm in the new school, I could go the the CCA's plus I will safe time on travelling\"

i went to one school to ask for waitlist, but the clerk doesnt seems 'interested'.. she just tell me ' no chance one lah...' so i ask her what are the requirement, does she need my IC , child's birth cert, or need to fill up anything . she very reluctant take out a form and say,' u just write here.. no need attached any document'. and when i give her back, she just put one side.. i wonder will the form be thrown to dustbin eventually 😐

                    I ever approached a school in year 07 & 08.. can't even \"smell\" the Form! 😐
just ask me to register under STEP during the year end.
Haiz.. the school not even the \"pop\" ones..

                        Hi all,

My family is in the midst of a move, so I'm not sure whether the 'pop' primary school opposite my new house will even accept me on waiting list. :?
May I know what reasons were cited in your letters to the school for your request to transfer? Was it mainly the proximity?
                        Thanks.
