Thanks Moonee! I actually got the no. of the bus driver exactly through those means. If he’s not exaggerating, then I’ll just stay put where I am, cos I really like my current residence.

your welcome Kanga. The buses have to reach the school by 12 -to 12.15 except wednesday as school starts earlier (plus minus, unless traffic jam) there will be a co-ordinator jotting down the bus numbers at the gate. There are quite a number of kids living in changi, marine parade. My guess is if ur journey is 20mins or lets say estimate half hour. your child may be the last to be fetched. Im staying in the central and the school bus used to come at 11.10, my dds the 1st to go and one of the last to come back. She use to get back at 7.30 earliest n 7.45 latest if theres heavy traffic. I guess the driver is correct abt the 20 mins as he is looking at the situation for 2009, there will always be changes in the time as there will be new kids taking the bus and different routes to take.

Btw congrats to ur successful balloting. u must b very happy

Yes, we’re very thankful that she got in. I actually didn’t attend the balloting, esp given that our chances were less than even -40%. Was really just praying for God’s will. I am relieved that this registration exercise is all over, finally!

😄 Hi kanga, I m sure u had a good nite sleep. I guess u would have attended the balloting if u knew u stood a chance, yes it definitely is Gods will. I witness the balloting, felt happy for those who got in but really very sad to see some dissapointed faces. 😞

Moonee, which level is ur girl in?

Mummykanga, one of the advantages of taking school bus is that the school allows the buses to leave first before the private cars. Hence if ur girl is the first or second one to be dropped, it may be faster for her to take the school bus.

Moonee- The main reason I didn’t go was because I’ve only started driving again for a couple of months (tho I did get my licence years back) and I was just not confident in making my own way to the school and back without my "backseat driver" to guide me - hubby’s currently away. : )

Luanee- Thanks for the tip and I will definitely take it as I have no intention of driving her there, at least not with my current crappy driving skills.

Hi, mummy kanga// dont worry abt not attending the balloting, you were not the only one that did not attend btw u did not miss anything, I would have stayed home and waited for the results after seeing how tensed some parents were. I guess u would have received notification frm the school by now. I think its really a very good idea for u to familiarise yourself with the route from home to school since yr backseat driver is normally out of town and there may be instances when u may wnt to send yr dd to school in the morning, perhaps for CCA etc… The school bus does not operate mid morning but does provide an extra service at 4.30pm (for those who attend CCA or extra classes) and at 6.30pm. Anyway CCA is optional as for p1 now.

Moonee, mine's the one with the missing book - which, by the way, mysteriously resurfaced in class last week before the Nat Day weekend - found by the same teacher on the teacher's table with no one admitting to having put it there :?

Me thinks the teachers at RGPS don't sleep.

Moonee, do you see any difference now that there's a new principal at the helm? My fren who has a P6 this year is stressed coz she believes that the P would want the teachers to perform, given this is her 1st year. And believes that they'd then push the girls.
 I'd have thought our gals, Luanee, would be more under scrutiny since it's her 1st batch of those \"fully under her charge\" Anyway, I've met her though (the P). Very level-headed and nice lady. Been in HQ MOE for some time now, so hopefully will not have the \"baggage\" of being at the schools for too long 🙏 🙏 😉

Hi Moonee, yes I am a FTWM. So far it's quite relaxing for us now as there are not too much homework for the P1s except for the weekly spelling and ting-xie. Things only get 'exciting' during the pre-SA period when I get more gan-cheong and print SA papers for her to do.

Andaiz, actually I have not met the new principal yet, hee... The teachers dont sleep one eh? Wow luckily they dont expect that from the parents or students 🙂
