How do you de-stress yourself after a day of hard work?
-
I always tell myself to forget about work stress and issues when I am back at home. But sometimes it's really hard to do so after a bad day and still need to put on a smiling face to my family especially to my child.
Can anyone share some advice here?

hmmm for me usually talking and playing with my child do the trick, or long shower with nice smelling toiletries… watching an interesting movie or playing silly games on facebook…
But when work stress is really bad usually means need extra time doing "homework" then abit difficult with the kid trying to get mummy’s time… -
I de-stress by hugging my wife and son; and by playing with my son.

Used to be playing with my kid but now more stressful playing with her.
De-stress by doing nothing(which is very difficult but worth trying) -
I haven’t felt stress in a long time LOL

Cook up a storm and get DH to clean up..... Grap a silly romance and read it with a glass of chilled white wine...... Clean out the cupboards...... Turn on the shredder and start off with DH's collection of junk mailers...... Hv a nice hot shower, set a/c full blast at 18 degrees, lather on perfume lotion all over, get into bed and send an erotic SMS request to DH

Go for a nice spa massage

vfong1, i think she meant how to de-stress
immediately when she gets home... so
mebbe the spa treat may need to wait.

For me, since my girls are older and they can
understand... i just tell them upfront. Hubs too.
We'll just say, mummy had a bad day and need
sometime to myself for awhile... I'll check in on
you girls later. Kiss.. Kiss.. Or hubs may say,
daddy is really tired right now and i need to
relax for awhile.. So far okay laarr, works.
Helps not to push us to blow our tops if it comes.
I mean it's really not their fault, aye..
But really... on attention seeking days, the kiddies
sure can get us riled up real good. I choose to see
it as a one-off day... It's not everyday we are like
that right?
And being humans, we can't run away from
emotions. So it's really difficult to put up a smiley
front and badger on anyhow on certain bad days.
I hear ya girl... hang in there. Bad days come and
hope bad days go too.
I feel ya..
Take care. -
Play Uno with DD although sometimes more stressed than de-stressed cos occasionally must \"put water\" to balance the scales.
Otherwise, watch anime with DH or read book. Or watch DVD. Or play simple games on PC. But lately, I keep falling asleep earlier than DH so maybe my body is telling me that's the best way to de-stress now?
