      Some suggestions on mood boosters:

Get a good dose of sun daily, even on a gloomy day we still will be able to get about 2000 to 4000 lux (a measurement of light). Indoor lighting will give you about 100 to 500 lux. Natural light stimulates serotonin, the brain’s "feel good"/"fight stress" chemical. 10 to 15 mins a day is all you need.

Vit B complex together with vit C gives you energy and is a known mood booster. But don’t take it in the later half of the day or you would be too jazz up to sleep peacefully.

Have some soy daily. Phytoestrogens in soy help your body absorb the extra estrogen and protgesterone which makes you feel down. Steam/boiled edamame makes a healthy and nutritional snack. Its readily available in supermarkets.

Relax by breathing. Lay down quietly on a mat or bed, close your eyes, relax your body, focus on your breathing (breathe in deep thru your nose and exhale long and hard with a whoosh thru your mouth).

        Aquamarine:
I always tell myself to forget about work stress and issues when I am back at home. But sometimes it's really hard to do so after a bad day and still need to put on a smiling face to my family especially to my child.

Can anyone share some advice here? 😞
For me exercise does helps. I started jogging at least once a week. Don't get me wrong I am not those super fit type. But I started to jog slowly at least 30mins a week, followed by some stretching exercise. After the exercise and shower, it make me fresh and more energy to keep me going for next day at work and with kids too.

        Hope this helps.

I de-stress by hugging my wife

          my dh did that too.
so i am told to station myself at the the gate to 'receive' him whenever he comes home everyday.
it's no wonder he was always grumpy when i used to be a FTWM cos i came home later than him. 😛

I de-stress by hugging my wife and son; and by playing with my son.

Yes, I do so by hugging my wife and daughter.

there’re many ways of de-stressing, as long as it’s not de-stressing by bashing up the wife and kids can already LOL

hmmm must feel real good to whack someone on the head with a frying pan haha

For sashimi, cannot do that immediately after he steps through the door cos he is all sweaty and grimy. Must wait until he showers first. 😉 But then, nowadays, we usually pick up our DD and go home together. 🙂

That's why we play games where we can virtually bash someone over the head?

                    Might sound weird, I don’t know…

I go for haircuts whenever I feel stressed up.
It usually makes me feel better after all my troubles are cut away.

On days when I do not have hair to cut (too short liao mar), I do something else to my hair.

Have tried numerous attempts to grow long hair, but always fail… sigh…

Getting a good hug or cuddle from DH works for me :hugs: OUr girls have seen this often enough and if they are upset or unhappy, they'd ask outright: \"Mummy / Daddy, can I have a hug please?\"

For me, a warm shower usually puts me in better stead to deal with home stuff 😉
