hi picolo,

      long time no see.
you have older kids too? šŸ™‚

      Hi kabalevsky,
I do take a peek at some popular threads every now & then, but too busy to llls... I have one P4 and one P3. Looking at the happenings on P2B registration this year, I'm so glad I don't have to be subjected to all those torture... I was very lucky cos my eldest didn't need to go through balloting last time...

Ya, balloting is painful. Although I did not have to go through it in P2B, I can fully understand how the other mummies feel. We all know that it not guaranteed but still, after all the time and effort put into P2B, it can be really heartpain when the child still cannot get into the school. So all the best to all the parents who were not successful in P2B. Hope they will be ok in their P2C.
If they are not successful in P2C, the PVs will put in the waitlist. So, it's just a matter of time for their kids to get into the school they PVed in. Those with better academic results may have priority....'lucky ones' get into sooner, ie P1, some have to wait till P2...

Hi SAHM Tan, you can actually buy the Chinese textbooks now, cos in Singapore every school (except Poi Ching?) uses the same Chinese textbooks, for SAP schools they would use the Higher Chinese versions. Alternatively, you can also go to http://www.xuele.edumall.sg/xuele/slot/u107/index.html , the main text of each chapter as well as some games (Chinese characters or Hanyupinyin) can be found there. In fact, P1 - Sec stuff are all there. Have fun! :imcool:

        :thankyou:

See what I mean about :lovesite: so many mummies lending a helping hand šŸ˜„

        You're welcome! :snuggles:

And I concur 101% that this is a wonderful website. :lovesite: too. Just don't get overzealous and :nosebleed: if you get what I meant... I go into different relevant threads every now & then to get useful info, thanks to all the generous parents who have walked the paths and so willing to share.
:thankyou:

          kabalevsky:
ok castle house, reply you before i go off for dinner with Dh and kids. (Dh went to tabao and kindly brought all 3, so i can KSP in peace now).

I have older ds1 so I talk abt my experience when it was it time. I was super excited. I am sentimental too. So I took photos of him on his first day to make into some sort of a scrapbook thingy but digital, not on paper, as a record of his momentous milestone šŸ™‚

His school is supporting the Back to school with Dads movement so they encourage daddies to bring the kids to school on the first day. Take pics of them going to school together. Holding hands down to bus (he was taking school bus then)

It was ds2's 1st day at K1 too. New school since we jus got back from overseas. So I brought ds2 to school after that, and then went to ds1's school for the parent talks. They have 3 days for parents to come to sch with the kids. These 3 days they org talks for parents in the morning (cos they all know we will kaypoh and want to see the kids at recess time).

But ds1 is the independent type so I just peek and \"spy\" from afar, and he was doing ok with his older buddy and buying his food and so on. So I took \"zooom in\" pics from where I was then went home to baby. šŸ™‚

It's really exciting to be at Orientation too, and to buy the uniforms and books. WIth the 1st child, all these are new experiences, so I guess that's where the excitement comes from.

With ds2, actually it's supposed to be calmer. I'll still take all the pics but I more or less know what to expect. Perhaps, Dh, in wanting to be excited still, wants to try the new school. That way, he gets to be excited all over again. Who knows, when it is dd's turn, he might want me to opt for yet another school? šŸ™‚

Let's enjoy this wonderful journey with them!
:thankyou: for sharing with us your experiences..

When will booklist be out? During the Orientation Day?

So, Chinese textbook the same for all school.. then can go popular to check on the price first..

Yes, usually by orientation day, the P1 booklist should be out. šŸ˜‚
If you are a Popular member, you can get a 5% off the listed price of textbooks.
xheaper to get it from popular then? Some said no difference.. :scratchhead:
