Hi Fifi, do iRobot Roomba and Scooba work as well in big and small houses? Do they need alot of recharging? What's the wattage of electricity? I checked out the Iclebo one, made in Korea, doesn't use alot of electricity. Now that electricity tariff keeps going up, I want a robot that is energy-saving and efficient, so money won't :moneyflies:

Hi, do you think it cost efficient to change the mop pads? Should be more convenient but as scooba sucks up the dirty water, it should be cleaner and more cost saving as Kiwi clean detergent is much cheaper. Just my 2cents worth.

True enough Scooba is probably cleaner but it does come with a bigger price tag and maintanence issues. Eg. there will be some parts that needs to be replace periodically though not really costly its still extra $$ involved.

In any case, I'm very happy with mine with absolutely no regrets. It's cheaper than maintaining a maid anyway. :please:[/quote]

Dont know abt scooba but Roomba definitely need to service once every 6 mths (recommended) to 1 yrs… Just like car.

Agree with Puff…if you maintain it well, Rhoomba needs to be serviced annually to clear out the dirt trapped inside. Scooba has some wear and tear issues so need to replace some of the parts. I guess nothing comes with a price…at least I don’t have to vac and wash the floor myself.

How often does it need to have a spare part change? Like the vaccumm port, prep squeegee, cleaning head…etc???

The irobot scooba can last for about 3-4 years on the avg. The battery can last for about 500 cycles at maximum capacity, amounting to about 1-2 yrs, the vacuum port is made of rubber so is more prone to wear and tear as compared to the Stainless Steel Mash Scooba filter.The brushes below can easily last a year if well maintained.

I would think the rubber parts like the vacuum port and floor prep squeegee would probably last 2 months if you use it frequently.

OK..........I'm coming back to this thread again.


After 6 years of maid.....it took me a while to clean up (maids always cut corners lah) and readjust my life while I went maidless and be SAHM for 3 years. Then due to elderly at home, rehired a maid but after 10 months, I'm back here again.

Now gotta do a clean-up all over again plus assess what's the damage (the last one was damn heavy handed). Well, gotta readjust all over again.......

:sick: the 10 months very damaging to me.....cos' having enjoyed some additional help, I got lazy again....now feeling xiong.......
