      Dicky,

Your friend is within 1km or 1-2km? If she is not lucky this time, ask her to talk to the principal and put on wait list. Usually they give priority to pv. My friend didn’t get in but she managed to be high on wait list so when pp withdraw, she got her kid in just before school opens.

last yr all of those in phase 2b got in without balloting. so lucky. i know a pv staying outside 2km got in. If this yr, she would not get a chance to ballot and waste her time volunteering.

Hi my girl was born in 2007, called RS just now and informed that PV for 2007 parents only start in Nov 2011, just wondering what will be the selecting criteria for PV? πŸ™‚

and heard something about red swastika society member, which would serve same purpose as PV, anyone knows details about that? thanks!

              crazylake,

When I joined pv last time, it was the ex- ex principal so probably not the same. I guess you need to highlight your strength and the areas in which you can help. For e.g. if you’re SAHM, you can tell them your hours are flexible and can come in as and when required for contact time (one hr every week on Wed). I heard a parent can take professional photographs so she volunteered to be photographers on special events. Another was an artist and she volunteered in some art project.

Not so sure about RS Society. You could also explore Grassroot which be more flexible.

Maybe can proposed to help science club or coach the Psle students science subject? I guess the more you write the higher chance of being selected.
Wish u Good luck! I realized p1 registration is getting tougher. My friends who got in through ballot was so happy like strike toto :grphug:

Yep, if my daughter got the seat, i will also go for a family celebration πŸ™‚ I was initially planing for PV for Tao Nan, thinking of the difficulty in getting the seats and not staying within 1km, finally we gave up the idea, and only focus on RSS, hopefully can get through...
