Actually Bt Merah View is 1Km from RMPS, ZDPS, RVPS & GESPS? Anyway I believe you had your reason to ballot in RMPS.HI titan,
i am staying in bukit merah view. i have tried in RMPS but was unsuccessful and ZDPS also full now. now i am very stress ful because if couldn't get the seat in GESPS then i have to go for Blangah rise. my worry is how can my son will catch the van around 6 am to get into Blangah Rise school if he got the seat there.
Last year there was balloting in GESPS Phase 2C Supplementary where 20+ applicants fight for 5 places (1Km-2km). I believe you should be able to get in for staying at 1km. If really have to ballot at 1Km then you just have to face it.
Other than that, you may want to consider Queenstown PS or New Town PS which I believe they are 1-2Km from your place? -
titank:
You should have try ZDPS where at 1km able to get in at Phase 2C.
Hi Titank!
Actually, each of us has our reason why we wanted to apply a particular school for our child. Take your case for instance. You belong to the 1-2 km category for RMPS, and from history, applicants within this group need to ballot in RMPS. You want your son to be in RMPS, and hence, you decided to perform PV to give your son a higher chance of getting into RMPS.
If I recall correctly, GESPS is just next to where you stay, right? You could have sent your son to GESPS, but you didn't want to. So, there should be a reason why sumoon decided to try RMPS instead of Zhangde during Phase 2C.
Besides, there's no point in saying \"you should have....\" now.
My two cents. -
Hi QMS,
Ya I'm sorry about that. Guess everyone have reason to try thier school.
Had checked from GESPS that last year there was balloting at Phase 2C Supplementary applicable for 1-2Km. Last year have more vacancies but this year hopefull it would stay the same.
Let's hope Sumoon would be able to get into GESPS. Cheeros! -

No worries! As I was at the balloting scene in RMPS, I could really feel for parents who were unsuccessful in getting their children in, even though they stayed so near.
So, to Sumoon, Chipmunks and Bakugan, all the best to you tomorrow, and keep us updated. We will pray hard for you!

Chief KS, can you please merge the above posts to the Bt Merah thread? Thanks. -

Hi sumoon :
I understand EXACTLY how u feel abt the current state of affair :hugs:
I fear tht i couldnt get a seat in GESP cz i'm in Bkt Purmei & also i hv to worry abt the BASC arrangement to complement.
Bt as qms has mentioned, other factors come into play and to each our priority for our child. Eg in my case, gd childcare for DS during \"out of school\" hours is impt tht he may better concentrate & enjoy his school and study time
Thus i'm seriously giving BRPS a chance. As for grades, I may need to hire a tutor to guide him more (in a non-stressful way), i guess...
Btw, nt sure abt the rest bt, but i stick to trying for RMPS even though I'm aware of the count was bcz i stayed at Bkt Purmei
Hang in there, sumoon... -
Hi All,
For those who would be trying Phase 2C Supplementary later, the following schools you may consider where we had listed under Bukit Merah & Queenstown.
(1) Gan Eng Seng Primary (40 places)
(2) Blangah Rise Primary (159 places)
(3) Queenstown Primary (61 places)
(4) New Town Primary (95 places)
So plan wisely, really have to ballot then wish all of you good luck. -

Can you please advise what issues you see with the BASC at GESPS? :?
Like what Chief KS said previously, it is highly likely that Blangah Rise will still have vacancies after Phase 3, so, you have nothing to lose by trying GESPS in Phase 2CS. Of course, given the location of your house, it is also highly likely that you will need to go through another round of balloting in Phase 2CS in GESPS.
Nevertheless, it's a decision you and your husband has to make. You have your concerns for each school. Once you have decided, would you be able to share with us why you eventually choose that school? It will benefit other parents in future, too.
On a plus point, I just found out that SBS Service 124 stops right in front of BRPS. Residents staying along Lower Delta Road (before Jln Bt Merah) can actually take this bus service to the school. So, older children studying in BRPS need not rely on school bus to go to the school.
Once again, Good Luck and All The Best to You!!! Keep us posted!

insider:
My son doesn't know anything. He thought that he was definitely going to Radin Mas Pri. Sch. and told everybody in his childcare centre, including his teachers, that he would be studying in that school next year.Amusing to hear my K2 son telling me who and who applied for what school, got balloting / draw lots, and who got in and who didn't, etc.
All these terms \"balloting\" / \"draw lots\" are from his mouth and he seems to understand the 'excitement' and 'disappointment'...
He still doesn't know what went on a few days ago.... -
Hi qms
For the student care at GESPS -
Their office is at the 2nd floor, just next to the hall. That will also be the place for the children to take nap and have other activity.
For P1 and P2 - they will report to the classroom at level 1 in the morning. There will be 3 teachers guiding the children. To ensure they finish their school work.
At about 10am will be breakfast and abt 12pm will be their lunch. The student care will cater the food in the canteen for them. The children will have their meal at the canteen.
The afternoon sch starts at 1pm. The children will be release at abt 12.30pm from the office and assemble in the hall.
They will be only taking in abt 15 more children. They are abt 15 for current P1. (15+15= 30) Total will be 30 for P1 and P2. During my P2C confirmation, I already registrated. I seen quite a no of parents going for the registration too. By now, the vancancy might not have much left. -
Hi Rena!
Thank you for your information on the BASC in GESPS.
I was just curious what was it about the BASC in GESPS that made Bakugan lean towards BASC in Telok Blangah, and hence, would rather go for BRPS than GESPS.
