I just put my stake in the most sought-after school in my neighborhood. No U-turn.

Keeping the faith and thinking positive about the balloting result next Fri.

      Fingers and toes crossed!!!
      :xedfingers:
      Good luck to you. :xedfingers:

Do parents have to be present physically during the balloting
? Or it is alright not to be there, assuming the school will conduct & update the parents later on?

I think it's safer for parents to be present, after what happened to a friend. Her child's name was picked in the ballot, but because it was very similar to that of another kid who was picked earlier, the slip of paper was almost put back into the box!!! Luckily she was very alert and stopped the staff, so all was fine. If she had not been present, no one else would have realised the mistake and she would have received a call from the school saying she was not successful in the ballot. :yikes:

wah! no QC in balloting?! scary :yikes:

Yeah... I was also very surprised when my friend told me... But i hear that some schools check birth cert numbers as well in cases of identical names. Anyway, still safer for parents to be present to audit the process.

How? As what I written earlier. It could not be the exact number of registered applicants for the online registration on the 8 piloted schools .(24 hrs applications through online) .Anyone check with the MOE already? :?

Just a heads-up for parents who changed the names on the child’s Birth Cert…remember to bring along the Deed Poll and the registration must be done under the new name in the Deed Poll, not the old one reflected in the Birth Cert…kanna smoked by the registration officer…have to go back 2nd time…
