If u are within 1km of HPPS and RGPS,MGS, got chance no need ballot within 1km. If not, best with Tao nan. I gave up st Hilda for the distance. Now hoping for miracle.

Based on this year's statistics, under p2B and within 1km, there is no need to ballot at RGPS. Balloting is required at NYPS, with 31 applicants going for 28 places. Assuming the numbers remain the same, there's still a debate between RGPS and NYPS as the family has a girl and a boy. Should they register at RGPS that year, when it is the boy's turn to register for P1, parents will have to monitor the odds again.
Aiyo. So complicated. Btw, unwritten rule for HCI and NYPS. There is some \"Relationship\" between these 2 schools. So boys from NYPS get into HCI at special admission aggregate

Not true. NYPS and NYGH are affiliated and the girls can enter NYGH at COP of 250. There is no such arrangement between NYPS an HCI.

        :?
So to be fair to the boys in NYPS, HCI should have it primary school side by side call HCPS solely for boy only. and NYPS should be a girl school just like RGPS to RGSS....or NYGS should be a mix school call NYSS....etc..
Parents presently staying in Bukit Timah area should hope for babies girl for advantage. What a education system we have now, it time to flush it away. :imconstipated:
RGPS and RGSS are government schools and they have no affiliation to each other. Likewise RI is government school, independent, and without a primary school.

HCI has always been a secondary school, it was not founded as a full school.

NYGH was founded as a full school before it became a government aided school and then they split the primary section of the full school to become NYPS. May be last time they saw the little boys as cute so they cater to boys intake at primary level but the boys can't join the sisters at NYGH....

it is not impossible for NYGH to become mixed school - that was how Faithfield Methodist School became what it is today, from an all-girl school to a mixed school (co-ed)

Honestly, are there so many firstborn 6-year old children at this area? There are really too many who re exploiting the loophole by renting a place.

should outlaw the renting address. serious about the school and the neighbourhood ? buy a place there lah

Demand coming from rich PRs + rental SG. Don't underestimate the power of PRs, I saw so many foreigners at RGPS P2C.

Not wise to buy an expensive property just to apply for P2C <1km. If cannot get in, how? Die lah :slapshead:
