My 2005 son has registered for FMSP as well. I had a great time at FMPS previously but unfortunately I've not heard great recent parent experiences from colleagues etc. In fact I had a colleague who had such a negative experience with her older son at FMSP that she put her younger daughter in another school. I am certainly praying and hoping that things will get better. Of course, each child's experience with the school and with teachers is individual, but I sure hope my kids will adapt to FMSP well.

Hi doodbug, my 2005 boy will be in FMSP next year too. My gal is in P1 this year and she enjoys her school tremendously. We have met up her form teacher during PTC and we have good impression of her. Typically, those kind and understanding, encouraging teacher. My boy is looking forward to go P1 cos of his sister. I put them in the same house for sports too.

        Dear lintai,

Thanks so much for sharing - I am so so encouraged to hear this! I am so happy to hear that your daughter is enjoying school. I am hoping that as a mission school, pastoral care and having caring and concerned teachers will be a school priority. How is the pace of academics? Seriously I recalled school was all about fun and I hardly had any work ๐Ÿ˜› But then this was over 20 years back haha.

When we registered for FMSP under Phase 2A2, we were encouraged to attend STARS on 23 Jul 2011 - our family went, including my K2 boy and K1 daughter. We sat right at the front row of UCC! Am glad that they enjoyed it very much.

My gal has little homework too. So far, she only has maths. At home, she mainly has to learn her spelling & ping gu. At times, will have to write her scripts for show & tell. Perhaps, that's why school is fun for her. My gal wanted to go for STARS but I thought since she's not performing, forget it. ๐Ÿ˜›

No, the P1 form teacher will also move up with the class & be the P2 form teacher.

So which group will be the new P1 teachers next year?

Thereโ€™s generally an โ€˜oddโ€™ and an โ€˜evenโ€™ years group. Each teacher stays with the class for 2 years.

Thanks. So generally all the teachers are nice there? Do they focus on academics and if kids don't perform well, will they call the parents?

No idea really; as I have shared, a close colleague did not have positive experience so I am very encouraged to hear of good experiences with FMSP in this forum
