Balloting failed:(:( Got 2 twins and 1 triple sibings and they successful got 7 places, felt it's unfair to single child.Sooo dispointed

Hi ruiruimum, i dun think it is right to say that it is unfair to single child. The twins and the triplets all shared the same ballot slips so everyone has an equal chance. Just my humble opinion.

I 'm not sure if you attended balloting before. For today's balloting,i knew that triple siblings share same number, that means they have 6 chances using one number while our citizen's child only have 2 chances using one number,is it fair? That's why those twins ans triples success today.

I know it is painful for parents who are now trying for Qifa, but please help me understand this.

        1. Given the poor odds of getting into Nanhua, and the fact that we have highlighted in our balloting history of the poor odds of getting into Nanhua in Phase 2C, why did you not choose to go to Qifa in Phase 2C?

        2. Would you have changed your mind about Nanhua if you KNEW that the total number of people going for NHPS was 84 for 28 places? If an extra day is given to you to reconsider your decision, would you have withdrawn your application to NHPS in Phase 2C, even when you know that other parents are also likely to do so, which will subsequently improve the odds for the remaining parents who insist on staying in the ballot?
Though the chance is low,I still want to try coz no try no chance at all.Even I felt sad when failed but no regret for it.

They didn't get 4 or 6 slips. They just happened to be lucky in the ballot. By combining their names in the same slip, they have reduced the number of ballot slips in the box, but just that if picked they take up additional places. So this is not unfair to the single child.

ya indeed, for 3 sets of multiple birth kids to get balloted in when there are only 28 places.

best of luck for your next phase.

Yes for twins/triplets, they can choose to either ballot individually (means each child gets 2 slips) or collectively (means 2 slips for each set of twins/triplets).

For the former, only the child that gets picked will get a place and the twin that doesn't get picked will have to go to another school. For the latter, the whole set of twins/triplets will go through. So you see, it is a calculated risk on the part of the parents, they get fewer slips but if they win, they really win big!

If these twins/triplets were to be picked last then the school will have to create more places for them but since they weren't, they took up 7 out of the seats alloted for P2C. Like in St Nick's Girls at P2B, the twins were picked last and the school had to take an extra seat from P2C to give it to them at P2B.

                        So they were indeed lucky!

I suggest you look at Pei Tong/ Bukit Timah Pri if you are within 1-2km of these schools as I predict Qifa will ballot for <1km at 2C(S).

                        Good luck!
