Thanks alot to Tweety17 & Bluebell. Somehow I did not turn on the \"watch replies\" for this topic :salute:
Can I ask whether there are exams for Primary 1 students in NCPS? I heard from my friends that some of the schools do not need their P1 & P2 students to take exams?
Thanks alot for the advise again.

NCPS still has exams for P1 and P2, but only the SAs, ie. May and Oct. No CAs.

Hi Everyone, I am totally new here. Came across this website at Yahoo! Search.
My boy will be entering P1 in 2010. I knew he is going to be in PM session. Any idea what’s schooling hours like? Sorry to have sounded stupid to post such question here since I can just call the school, but all of you here (parents) are so helpful and nice … ^v^ -

Hi, my daughter also get a seat after balloting. I also like to know what to look for during the P1 orientation. My daughter currently learning 3G abacus, i will enrol her into the Abacus class in NCP.Hi, after yesterday's balloting, my boy got a place in NCPS for Primary one next year.. phew!! It's a relieve.
Any advise on what will be done on orientation day? I reckon will be the day that need to get all the uniforms and books. :? -
Welcome onboard Irene ^v^
I am also ‘excited’ in a way on the orientation. Can’t imagine you must have been on your toes during the balloting.
As seen from the older posts, seems like we should be receiving some instructions from the school before the actual orientation date (um …)
Should you received any letter or whatever from them, could you leave a post here too?
You know, last week I got a call from them as they received a bounced mail on their letter to me. It was a bursary letter sent to all parents and you guess what? They handwritten my address wrongly thus the letter did not reach me. They called to apologise and also at the same time asked me on my response as it was too late for them to post the letter again. I told them to be careful as it may be important document to us and verified that they have my records correctly. So you see, human-error (phew!) -
Hi, I’m also looking for a good student care centre for my kid. I’m staying at Anchorvale Road. Anyone can recommend?
My plan is to place him with his current CCC if they can still accomodate him. But they can only reply me in Oct 09. Heard that the charges are expensive also, about $300. But I will be more at ease if the current CCC can keep him. But meantime, think I shld look for backup plan too.
Thanks!! -
one more daddy reporting, on behalf of my boy

Hi, so are you a PV at NCPS? Can I know by when must register as PV for children born 2005? My neighbour wanted to apply so that she can register her son under Phase 2B. Need to go thru interviews?Welcome onboard penglee.

Mine is first child going to P1 @ NCPS too. His sister born in 2005 will be able to register under Phase 2A I guess. We went through the balloting, that's why can understand the stress. So would really suggust those who really wanted their kids to go to NCPS to do PV.
Thanks!! -
Hello sysherlene,
For your neighbour’s case, the kid will start P1 at 2013.
The ‘qualifiying’ period for PV to complete the 40 hours is one year before 2013 (P1 year). This mean that your neighbour will have to complete the 40 hours between Jul 2011 to Jun 2012.
She can collect the PV form from NC from 2010 onwards and submit the form before 2011. What NC will do is that they will call up all applicants and interview over the phone on their PV commitments before Jul 2011. What they can do (contributions) as a PV to the school. The reply will then be submitted to NC principal for approval. Once approved, the PV will start in Jul 2011 and 40 hours will have to be completed before Jun 2012.
I can only provide this much of information as my submission for PV was not approved and I got in as I was a SHHK member years ago.
My intention as a PV at that time was to volunteer myself so that I can get to know the school before registering my son, but was rejected even I told them that I have weekends and during school holidays to offer my services.
From various sources among friends, PV are usually granted to homemaker who have time available during school hours to help out in school. For us who hold full-time job is pretty difficult. Tasks are usually traffic warden, recess time crowd maintenance, when we are working at that time.
