Hi Jtoh - I thought SOTA's cut off point is 230?

You have to read the letter of offer to see what's stated there. If it does not state a specific COP, just that the student has to qualify for Express stream, then 200 is usually the norm for most schools.

I know in recent years SOTA has said in their briefings that 230 is the preferred COP but I'm not sure if it's stated in the letter of offer.

Maybe parents who've received COs this year can confirm if a COP of 230 is stated in there.

The students I know who did not qualify for SOTA based on their PSLE scores despite getting COs are now in SOTA Year 2 and Year 4.

You are right… checked the offer letter and they did not indicate the COP. I am not sure where I get the 230 from - perhaps I am mistaken but thought I did hear/read somewhere that’s the COP…

        Thanks anyway. Cheers.

The principal mentioned 230 during the open symposium.

There is no psle T-score stated in DD's letter. However, it stated that \"you must still be eligible to attend a course offered in SOTA based on your PSLE results.\" I take this to mean to qualify for the Express stream (where the T-score is around 200).

During the tea session with NYGH on 5 Aug where the girls received their CO letter, P of NYGH, in response to a question by a parent, confirmed that the girls will be offered a place as long as they have PSLE T-score of 200, which is roughly the T-score to qualify for Express stream as NYGH does not offer N(A) nor N(T). However, she did qualify that she hopes the girls will do their best for their PSLE and come in with good T-scores.

Good luck to those parents who are still waiting for the letter just like myself. Keep finger cross.

My sister heard from her friend that the books and uniform cost almost $1000. Can any parents with DD/DS in SOTA can give advise? :salute:

                      Hi parents!

I’d like to ask those of you with intention or have already placed your kids in SOTA: when did you first noticed/discover your child’s inclination towards the arts?

My DD is 5 now. Of ballet, piano, arts and craft lessons, she seems to enjoy making/creating things from paper and stuff. She likes working with scissors, scotch tape, etc more than simply drawing. She enjoys making handbags for us, microphones, buildings, etc…I am not sure if this is a passing phase for her.

                      Please share. Thanks

My DD is 12 now. When she was about your DD's age, she love to draw, make BD cards, gifts and even sorry card when she make me angry 😂 .
But now she have lost interest and stop doing those things. She only do it when it's for school work and she will just do it in the fastest and simple way. However, her passion for ballet is still very strong since she started in K2. :boogie:
