How do you order Peking Duck? We are a family of 3 and can't possibly finish a whole duck.

      Thanks.

you can order half a duck, the bone can be made soup with, etc ... must try the dipped fried duck heart .....delicious !! all food consume in moderation la

Pardon my ignorance as I hardly go to a restaurant.
So say in Quanjude, there is \"half a duck\" available in the menu.
You mentioned one of outlets of Quanjude is at Oriental Plaza at WangFuJing?

Anybody tried Han Cang hakka cuisine or Ding Ding Xiang (chinese hotpot)?

Anybody tried doing Badaling and Ming Tomb DIY? To Badaling, just take bus 919 from De Sheng Men. However, to Ming Tomb seems complicated. I found only tour buses would do both on the same day.

Anybody tried taking the bullet train from Beijing to Shanghai? Am staying in Beijing for a week and thus thinking of spending a couple of days in Shanghai.

      Thanks.

yes you can order half a duck

the quanjude is on a side lane off Wangfujing, and is behind the Oriental Plaza, which houses the Beijing Grand Hyatt hotel

expect to walk a bit because around that area it is best to see it on foot

don't try the bullet train from Beijing to Shanghai, esp after the bullet-train crash near Wenzhou on Jul 22. Confirm is due to equipment fault - signalling and braking system fault....and instantly the airfare has increased (discount reduced) as people started to avoid bullet train for the time being until the rectification is satisfactory

the shuttle flight between Beijing and Shanghai is extremely convenient - like every half an hour

if your group is less than 5 pax, hire a taxi for a whole day is about Rmb 5oo and brings you to wherever you want, quite worth it

(I have not done the Ming tomb, always say next trip)

          Taking a public bus 919 from DeShengMen is RMB12 * 3 pax << RMB 500 🙂

So, still worthy to try the public bus.

BTW, is DeShengMen located somewhere between metro GuLouDaJie and metro JiShuiTan? We need to locate this DeShengMen first!

ok, may consider a domestic flight to shanghai instead of the bullet train. But then, besides the Bund, I dont know where to go for a couple of days.

There are a few types of Peking Duck: Quanjude, Da Dong, Li Qun and Bian Yi Fang. Guess we can only afford to try one.

Have you tried Ding Ding Xiang hotpot?

Now is the most tedious part: planning the itinerary with the matching dining places!

you can try coldwear.com.sg, they have some very thin thermal which can be worn under the jean and will block out the wind

got it for my DS and DW last year when we went some where minus 25 degree C
