relax mummies… The higher level they go, the lesser relaxation you have, so do enjoy his first 2 years in sch.

It was hard for me to let go too...the thought of my petite daughter going to REAL school....afraid of school bullies, buying food and coping with longer hours. Anyway, have to let go sooner or later. Oh yes, enjoy a little for P1. Bcos like what care07 mentioned, it is stressful at upper pri.

It doesn't have to be.. As long as you know
you've prepared your dd adequately SAHM_TAN
the rest is up to her. Sometimes we don't give children
the credit that they deserve... that they are more adaptable
than we think they are. My DD2 now in P2, still relaxed. :hugs:
:offtopic: Sorry, this thread about school books orh.
Btw some schools sell shoes as well. Some schs require only
school socks due to name of school printed on them so this gotta
check as well. -
I don’t get the thing about school names on socks. Why does the school want to brand everything?
-
Duh.. me neither.

Maybe the school wants students to have more sense of belonging by wearing the 'brand name' all the way to socks. For my son, I find that his socks (with school name) is nothing special. For my daughter, I bought 3 pairs because the socks at the ankle is thicker and has more 'protection' as they have gym. Only bought 2 pairs...other than those days w/out PE, she wears plain white ones. -
Hi parents,
Can share how many sets of school uniforms and PE T-shirt to get?
I am heeding your adv to get textbooks from popular so only exercise books and pupil dairy to purchase from the school book shop right? do you buy all the no of recommended exercise books or just buy some 5 x single lines and 5 x square ones?
Hi KiasuGrandMaster VI,
I think ds school also selling socks with school name. Can I confirm it is not imperative to get? or do students gotta wear on certain days?
Thanks in adv for sharing. -

have you gotten the timetable?
for us, we got 2 sets of Uniform and 2 sets of PE attire as we had to buy 1 set of house T-shirt. kids grow pretty fast. my boy could not fit into his P1 shorts by end of P2 (consider fast or slow?
).
for exercise books, just do a gauge; 2 book for each subject. can always get your kid to go bookshop to buy; good exposure for them to go bookshop to buy necessities and not just novelty items
for school socks, it may be better if you can check out with parents in the relevant Parents Networking Thread. maybe you can get parents with kids going to your kids' school to clarify your doubts.
Happy orientating!
