The interview is not stressful, the school just have too many applicants. One school I know conduct balloting becos all the PVs will do the same job, traffic wardens heehee. Another school I know conducts interview because they are looking for specific skill sets for their school needs.

Even if the school is considered neighbourhood school, within a neighbourhood, there's perferance, so that's why there's balloting. Of course, there's Frontier Primary, a new school, operating next yr, but balloting within <1km, a surprise for many parents. -
