AFAIK the 2A priority only applies when either parent was from that specific pr school.

If u r from Catholic High Pr, u will not get 2A priority if u choose to apply to St Joseph Jr.

If u were from Catholic JC, u don't get 2A priority for application to affliated Catholic pr schools.

Was told that someone who was from ACJC and spent $$$ to join the ACS OBA only to find that it does not help them in getting their boy into either ACS.

Never do research first. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

so if the son got in, does it mean buying a place since dad wasnt an old boy of either acs?

Not necessary...can still go for 2B (if it applies) and/or pray for divine intervention!! šŸ˜‰

I understand that by becoming a member does not guarantee you to go to phase 2B as well. You will need a recommendation letter from them and its not 100% confirm you will get it as it depends on which school you want to enrol.

Thanks. Actually we called up Tao Nan school and we were advised to join the hokkien huay kuan. But one of the conditions is we need 2 sponsors. We do not know anyone here as I am a new citizen (my hubby is a PR). The reason we choose Tao Nan is my hubby who is an american wants our boys to learn good chinese and learn chinese culture

if you are registering next year for P1 in 2013, you are too late for huay kuan route.

I was told at least 2 yrs and depending on how popular the school is. Unfortunately Tao Nan is one of the hot pick for SHHK members and the longer you are with SHHK, the better chance you get the recommendation letter.

Maybe you are still early for PV route?

I am also considering the PV but the PV of most schools that I called up has not opened for registration. I am willing to do anything to secure a place for my boy.

if current practise continue, PV application for Tao Nan starts on 1Jan2012 for registration in 2013. But be prepared to ballot for a PV slot if shortlisted.

you are probably too late for SHHK.
