My kid is in lower pri in TAS but I have a neighbour whose boy is taking PSLE this year. He has been having tuition at another centre but not much improvement. Still getting low 70s. Anyone ever tried putting their children at TAS for the last few months before PSLE? is it effective to do so?

Now TAS has start giving revision for the PSLE classes. Not quite sure will it be very stress for the boy to join. Yet, my advice is to call and speak to the staff there. But bear in mind, there might be no one picking the call and the delay and returning the call.

Yes, my neighbour is quite frantic. She tried 2 other centres and even got a personal tutor for a while but his grades were the same. Maybe improve by 2-3 marks then deprove again. And his teacher in school is not teaching well. Seems like he does not know some of the synthesis basics. I just got to know about TAS. But not sure if it is too late to help. Now only left with a few months. How is your friend’s child’s results? Does he have tuition?

My friend’s kid attended a few renowed enrichment centres. Heard his good results were unable to sustain as he progresses to upper level so my friend is very anxious esp PSLE is around the corner. He does not have any tuition. I have not tried TAS so cant quite recommend. He is rather weak in his compo, not so sure about his paper II though. Most centres seem to adopt quite the same "methodology" of giving good phrases and techniques. It’s probably easier for adults like us to understand and to try and apply the concepts/techniques. But for average students, it can be quite a demanding and challenging skill. Wonder how kids can score 34 marks and above for compo?

My DD started to write picture composition in term 2. I heard that the weightage of the composition gets higher as they progress to P2/P3. Being a kiasu mum, I started to worry for her because DD is not a very creative person.

I also am not sure. it is not easy. I heard from a friend who has her child in Rosyth that for her son's class when he gets 29, it is considered good because the teacher marks very strictly. In the exam, he will get about 32 or sometimes higher.
