I am new here.

Brought my 4.5 yrs old boy for an assessment at Lcentral this afternoon. Was pretty upset that they recommended him to start from foundation. He can describe and name all the pictures that were shown to him and write his name correctly. Howecer, he dunno phonics.

Any of you parents can advise if I-creativer Learners or Lcentral which is better?

Not sure if you have made your choice but it is my own opinion cos my DD had attended I-creative Learners and Lcentral.

My DD was from I-creative Learners when she was 4. But I switched her from I-creative Learners to Lcentral after getting recommendation from my friends.

For I-creative learners, it is a good program too but my DD had previously attended Zoo-phonics so I-creative program for 4 yr old is quite \"boring\" to her cos she is learning the same things (sounds of the letters). So switched her to Lcentral.

I especially like Lcentral's Liftoff programme which includes spelling and they taught the rules of English (during my time, I didnt learn that in school. )
Currently, my DD is at their success 1 level and so far she loves going to school.

Dun be sad about starting off at foundation level. Usually for their foundation or Launchpad levels, as long as the kid has mastered the skills, the teachers will usually promote the kid to the next level. Lcentral program needs him to know the basic phonics cos at liftoff stage, the child has to learn to blend words. It is really amazing when they see a difficult word, they can actually \"know\" how to pronounce it by blending it.

My daughter is at Woodlands Branch with teacher Chris King. However, he will be leaving next mth and they will have another teacher. So far, the teachers I encountered are pretty nice and good. But I heard that the new teacher is also a male.

Hihi,

Just brought my DD (3+) to LC @ JE for assessment last Sat and she is to be placed in the Foundations class. The teacher basically asked her to name the pictures, which she can. But she cannot name all 26 alphabets in lower case and only can do 1st sound of limited letters.
The teacher showed her the workbook, which looks really easily. I understand that she will be doing colouring, sound and movement and stuff, which I supposed will be similar to what she learns in her pre-nursery now? Then what is the point of going for such enrichment classes?
I have signed her up for her trial this Sun.
