            $500 is too much.

Base on TNS, 2008 price range are (depending on size)
shirt from $7.50 to $12.50 each,
pants from $7 to $11 each
blouse from $5.20 to $7.10 each
skirts from $9.50 to $12 each
            T-shirt from $5 to $6.50 each
PE Shorts from $4.50 to $5 each
Socks $2 each or $5 for 3 pairs
            Shoes $18

Textbook & stationary total is $141.55

so total should be about $280-$350

Name tag better don't anyhow buy. Some schs have miniature badge printed on their metal name tags. My DD's name tags are colour coded (like what other schs do when using cloth name tags) to indicate level. If you insist to buy outside, it's very troublesome. Imagine you must ask your chosen vendor to make exactly the same. And if sch badge is included, vendor may not be able to reproduce exactly due to various reasons like copyright. (P.S. If you just want to save money, buy from sch cos sch orders in bulk and can enjoy discounts but you don't.)

Wonder whether the school can pay by Visa, Masters Card a not??

As some parents said bring lots of cash as there won’t be any ATM near the school.

This depends on the vendors, not the sch itself. Think about it, do normal sch bkshops have/need ATM/credit card equipment? The uniform and shoes/socks vendors will only be there temporarily. Generally, uniform vendors do not have permanent stalls at schs cos students don't need/want to patronise them everyday, unlike the sch bkshop.

You can check with them if they accept personal cheques for big amts.

                    Hi Titank!

UOB and POSB have ATMs (one each) next to RMPS.

:rotflmao: I know what you mean.

The NTUC (under the Bt Batok MRT track) that has a booth has an ATM just outside and the other one on my way home is near an ATM and a number of banks (the major ones have 24hr ATMs).
