Thanks Autolycus. Seems that student with good results will go to a ACSI, and the remaining go to ACS(baker).

Clayman: I think he meant that in general, GEP students do well enough for entry without DSA. However, those with unusual contributions in various areas will still be considered. It wasn't meant to be an anti-GEP statement! 🙂

annamylee: This is generally true because if you apply for ACS(I) as first choice and ACS(Barker) as second choice, but fail to get ACS(I), you will be treated as a first-choice applicant for ACS(Barker). However, a number of very good students pick ACS(Barker) as first choice. Note that it's called ACS(Barker) because it's located at 60 Barker Road. 🙂

            Keeping my fingers crossed.

Besides being offered a place thru DSA CO, the student will also be confirmed in IB. If going via PSLE, there’s no guarantee of IB unless t-score relatively high.

I think the COP for IB is 255 or around there.

Does a DSA CO definitely mean IB regardless of ability and PSLE score?

Nebbermind/jtoh: there’s no confirmation of IB (International Baccalaureate) until the end of Year 4. The COP for non-affiliated entrance to ACS(I) is about 255. The DSA does not mean automatic IP (Integrated Programme), since the DSA is for talent and the IP is mainly designed as an academic programme.

u mean all sec 1 shares the same curriculum?

I was given the impression that they do very diff stuff even from sec1, but it’s possible to switch beteen ‘O’ and IB before sec4 depending on results.

Does getting a DSA CO at P6 into ACSI mean that you'll be placed into the IP classes? And of course subject to your performance, you can be re-streamed into the O level classes?

Entry into the IP classes for ACPS and ACSJ boys is also about 255 as I understand it.

ACSI offer IP (lead to IB in yr 5/6) & O lvl track. During the open hse, they actually encouraged us to indicate tt we will choose O lvl track if not selected under IB as they said there is higher chance to switch to IB later on if the child perform well....
