            rainbows:
hi i like to join in the club as well..

i'm in seng kang - compassvale drive ..
have a 7year old gal and 4year old boy.

i'm thinking of doing pv for st hilda or st andrew for my boy. both are more than 2km. what do your think stands a better chance for me? cos i heard that st hilda if more than 2km, even with pv, also equals to nil chance... wonder true?
If u look at the balloting history of St Hilda's, it is usually overly subscribed. Unless u qualify for the earlier phases, some schools tell parents who live beyond 2km not to apply at all. Also, you may also want to check further regarding spiritual teachings and development programs in the school. I was told certain mission schools has scrap or reduce their focus in biblical teachings. That said, St Hilda's is also valued for producing high scorers.

During my dd's enrollment year, at P2C, NCPS told parents who live beyond 1km to consider other schools, and those beyond 2km not to apply at all!
Despite being 0.5km away, we were balloted out. We had no pv, no clan letters lah. Hahaha.

St Andrew's is an Anglican school. It will be very helpful if u r an active member of the Anglican church. I think St Andrew's has weekly chapel period. Advantage is, once you get into St Andrew's, got affiliation all the way to JC!

              hi bebebub

u think if i call the sch to check on their focus on spiritual or biblical teachings - they would share with me? cos i tried to call them the last time, no one pick up then i chicken out, never call again hahah

wow! ncps is so hot! my neighbour also balloted out - now she’s trying for seng kang primary.

ya, that’s what i like about st andrew also haha - but i’m no anglican ;( so i have to go the way of pv…in which this year they still do not accept. registrations only open next year.

                Rainbows,

I dun have enough experience on this, and I reckon it will be difficult for them to tell u "how much". My suggestion is to call the admin office and ask them how often chapel is conducted, and how they go about it. A quicker way may be to post your questions in the KS parents networking groups for St Hilda’s. I’m quite sure you’ll get plenty of inputs.

I was from the Anglican group of schools, but the primary school is too far - at Mount Sophia. I’m a practical mum, cannot imagine my dd spending so much time traveling to n fro everyday. So we opted for schools in the NE. Academic excellence of the school not my top priority. I just hope I’ve made the right choice for my kids.

My dd was in SKPS until we transfer her out. Don’t get me wrong, she was happy in SKPS, but for similar reason as yours, we wanted a mission environment for our kids. So we put her on wait list in another school and the transfer came through for her at the end of P2. Dun know much about SKPS anymore cos there was a change out of Principal in 2010.

                  wow 1.3M :faint:

how big is the 4 bedroom :?
Hb went to kp ard when approached by the agents. He was given the indicative price and floor area. 4 bedroom is about 1300sf. Works out $1.3m.
