I known a P3 boy who now takes public transport alone to school. He used to take the school bus. Oh I better tell you about the \"house practise\" that runs on thurs afternoon during term 1. Kids who are selected to run for sports day are required to go for \"house practise\" (either on tues or thurs because depend on the kid's house colour and training from 3pm to 5pm). House practise only run for term 1. So that mean during term 1 there are 2 weekdays my girl was required to stay back in school.

I do not know if CCA is compulsory. Every kid was given a CCA selection form and all her friends seems to have enrolled in a CCA. My girl is only in the Art Club, so i guess 1 CCA is sufficient. She has a friend in the Band too and I have asked her to find out which day the Band training falls on.

Malay conversational class is not part of curriculum. It is being held after school and my girl told me a small number of her classmates are not taking the lesson. So I think it is not compulsory. There is only a textbook for this lesson. It is good to learn (no exams so far, only simple assignments given). My girl now can greet my malay neighbours in malay now 😄

I bought the PE shorts last night. Prefer the new PE shorts because it is more comfortable material and full elastic (which means she can wear it longer, unlike currrent half elastic ones). But do the boys require to wear the new PE shorts on PE days since there are no changes to the boy school shorts? The lady who is selling don't seem to know much too.The new PE shirt looks nicer too. Hope the tee material is good too. I think the name tag should be above the school logo embiodiary. I was rushing last night. I did not ask to see the girl uniform or the boy shirt.

Hi, the lady at Shirley told me that the new PE short is unisex. So we actually got 2 each for them. It is definitely more comfortable than the existing. I like the chinese wording esp the design on the new PE tshirt and shorts.

I think learning malay is cool and it's good to do it. Haha I look forward to the time when my kids can speak malay. It helps when we go to Malaysia. 😎

Wow the schedule in P3 does look packed + CA too. Is it a huge adjustment for the child?

Yes I agree the vertical chinese school name behind the PE tee makes it look good. I bought a PE skirt for my girl and realise the lady selling the uniform is not aware that the lower primary kids are not require to wear the skirts. Therefore I did not buy the PE shorts for my boy. Got a feeling it remain the same. Boy school shorts can be used as PE shorts. Else boys wear PE shorts on their PE days. I will wait till the school confirm this.

My girl in the initial stage is not used to the new schedule in P3. Getting up early now and staying back in school. She gets tired very early in the night and insist we must switch off room lights by 10pm. After about a month into their new schedule, kids should be fine. I am concern only about the after school transport. I am lucky my dad volunteered to bring my girl back in the afternoon.

Yah the after school transport pose as a issue. I do see some upper primary kids in my kids’ school van. But that means watiing till 6+ to go home. I think we will probably have to get the maid to fetch my girl from school next year.

Come to think of it, if there are days where they are not taking the bus home, it might make sense not to take school bus afterall. Another concern is the pick up time in the morning.

The kids in the afternoon session were told to tune in Razor tv for more action since the president came to their school in the morning. My boy was kind of disappointed.
