candidates. If didn't receive anything, means not shortlisted šŸ˜ž

Dun be discouraged. Will get another chance during the central posting after PSLE result is out.

Thanks for the encouragement, Jennifer. My ds has been working very hard for the PSLE. Hope it will all pay off!

Checked my email account today - nothing. Anyway, thanks for the update. All the best for your son's day activity and interview! :xedfingers:

Thanks. I think you should call them on Monday.
They may have some problem with their email system.
They have been sending people emails dated 1 Nov 1970 last Friday.

Just called NJC. They said they have sent out all emails for shortlisted candidates. If didn't receive anything, means not shortlisted šŸ˜ž I'm just curious, any idea if GEPers are given priority over the mainstream pupils during the selection procedure?[/quote]All things are not made equal.. If you come from a GEP school like my DD (RGPS, next door to NJC), they actually enquire if you are GEPers or not. Most of my DD RGPS GEPers do get the CO after the HAST test and shortlisted for activities/Camp followed by interviewer. But only 1 GEPer and most RGPS mainstreamers accept NJC CO. So those on WLs have very good chance of CO on PSLE result day. šŸ˜„

Thanks for the update! But my ds is not even in any of the elite school to begin with. He is from a neighbourhood primary sch in the west. Well... told ds that as long as he studies hard and does his best...that's all that really matters... šŸ™‚ (though I still hope he gets into a reasonably good school)

I think for 2011 it was less than 210. For 2010, it was around 190+ thereabouts.

I was wondering if parents have any advice on what to do/bring etc (in addition to the list)?

Don't think you really need to bring anything in addition to the list. haha. Maybe should see what you can eliminate from the list instead.

                    1. Emergency Medications (vitamins, panadol, flu, stomach, diarhhoea, etc)
                    2. Shampoo, Shower, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Cup + small pail
                    3. Floor wipes with the Holder & General Cleaning Wipes
                    4. Electric Fan (there's Ceiling Fan but still hot)
                    5. Extension electric plug
                    6. Electrical Outlet adaptors
                    7. Handphone or camera chargers, etc
                    8. Bowl/Fork/Spoon/cup in case they want to make their own supper/snack
                    9. Clothes for daily wear/sleep for 5 days
                    10. Uniforms for 5 days (there's laundry service in boarding)
                    11. Undergarments enough for 5 days.
                    12. Socks for 5 days
                    13. School Shoes
                    14. Sandals/slippers for wearing around boarding
                    15. Towels
                    16. Blanket, if don't like the furry one in boarding room
                    17. Pillow
                    18. Shallow rectangular plastic baskets to put inside cupboard so their undergarments and socks are not everywhere on the shelves inside the wardrobe(!!!).
                    19. Foldable Mesh Laundry holder (for them to put their dirty clothes before laundry) - usually hang this inside one of the wardrobes
                    20. ..... airfreshener/insecticide - spray plus those freshener-tubs to keep the room smelling fresh.
                    21. Laptop if needed
                    22. Musical instruments, if needed
                    23. School Bag with books/files

                    Anything to add?

                    Would laptop seriously needed?

How many pairs of shoes should be prepared? Does flip-flop / slippers allowed?

flip-flop/slippers/sandals all allowed, but we better make sure the grip is good n non slippery type. No. of sch shoes also depends on individual.

Do you know how I can have access to the piano when I'm in boarding?
