Actually to get confirmed as Executive Member is not that difficult. It actually depends on whether the RC Chairman or CC staff in charge (Assistant Constituency Manager) is willing to help.
Just try loh, if she able to get Executive Member by June 2010 then able to register in Phase 2B.sysherlene:
Thanks alot titank, seems to me not a very \"guaranteed\" route to take.
So it's possible that she might end up still have to register under Phase 2C even though she actively perform her RC duties?
Normally, they will appoint you as Executive Member in the two yearly exercises in conjunction with the new line up of RC members. If you put harder, and your Chairman / CC staff in charge (Assistant Constituency Manager) is βgunhoβ, they might be able to endorse you as Executive Member earlier. What they need to do is to raise paperwork and get the advisor to endorse before submitting to PA for approval. -

Actually not every chairman is well versed in PA rules & regulation. Most of them just sit on the βChairβ and conduct monthly meeting. There are cases that the Chairman, Treasurer just read from the report prepared by the CC staff in charge (ACM).copsland007:
All parents....who are GRL....please advise as I am actively involved in RC for the past 2 years and in the position of Secretary right now. However the GRC that I am serving does not have the school that I want to put my daughter in and I have got feedback that it does not matter as long as I have the advisor's endorsement I will be qualified in phase 2B of any schools.
Has anyone out there has successfully gone thru phase 2B which this kind of situation.
Mostly the schools is allow in the GRC, you may want to check with your Chairman. I had a freind that did RC in 2000, nobody inform him any info on Phase 2B registration. In the end he didn't make use of the benefits.
Ask Chairman everything say don't know, not sure etc. :!:
Nevertheless, there are a few exceptional chairmen who are capable and willing to go extra mile to serve the committee and neighbour.
One thing that I observed about RC members is they are quite naΓ―ve/ill informed and are not aware of the structure of the grassroots organizations in their constituency/GRC/CDC. If you have problem and cannot get an answer from your Chairman, talk directly to the CC staff in charge (ACM). You can also move up the ladder and talk to your SCM directly. If no satisfactory respond from SCM, go directly to Group Constituency Manager then PA HQ. -
The last I heard, he is also keeping his toes crossed.
Personally, find it too expensive. It as if \"buying\" a place in the school. Come to think about, we are really buying place in primary school. Wonder any up for sales in eBay?

-
it will be on eBay if MOE decides to make the places transferrable. :rotflmao:

Though it seems like buying, but seems to me not 100% guaranteed \"sales transaction\" ... Do remember that Phase 2B still have to compete with PVs & also member of some associations too.The last I heard, he is also keeping his toes crossed.

End of the day, it's only abt increasing your chances to get a place for your 1st child in the school u wanted. If nothing is done, then guess just have to wish for lots of good luck... -
For clarity and full picture, Grassroot route is not only just the donation. It also the time and efforts which equal to lost family time and work opportunity... :stupid: Sign, is all singapore parents fated to live such life..
Better pray hard whatever the belieft is...

Hi,
Has any of the parents have their kids enrolled in School through phase 2B as grassroot leaders? Can share your experience & which year?
Thanks -
Hi
i was converted to Executive member in Septβ09 but my chairman told me that i might not get a chance to register under Phase 2B in 2010. This is 'cos i didnt meet the min 1 year service requirement set by PA.
Is this so?
When do we need to register with PA? -
Hi,
As quoted byTegami on the previous posting on Tue May 12, 2009 10:08 pm , you should serve a minimum 1 year service & this is what I heard also.
You may refer to:
The following are the abstract for the MOE Primary One Registration Priority Scheme under Phase 2B for Grassroots Leaders:
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) Only serving members of CCC, CCMC, RC, NC and Councillors of CDC who have served at least one year of continuous grassroots service immediately prior to their applications are eligible to apply for the Scheme.
2) The applicant must be a parent of the child to be registered for Primary One education for the year of admission as stated by MOE.
3) The applicant must ensure that the address stated in his/her application is his/her residing address and is the same as that in his/her NRIC. In the event that the address in the application is different from that in the NRIC, or if the address is not the residing address, the application will be rejected by MOE.
4) GRL applicants will only be eligible for any of the schools in the GRC/SMC where they serve and reside. CDC Councillors will only be eligible for any of the schools in the GRC/SMC where they reside and schools in the GRC/SMC of the Adviser who recommended them for appointment into the CDC. You may refer to the MOE website at http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/listing-by-grc/ for the list of schools.
5) Application is subject to the prevailing MOE's Primary One Registration Terms & Conditions and availability of vacancies for Phase 2B.
6) The closing date for the application is 12 June 2009.
Hopes this helps.puzzle:

Yes you must at least 1 year of service in the Grassroot in order to qualify for Phase 2B. For your case in 2010 Registration, you must joined the Grassroot by 30 June 2009.Hi
